ok today i tried to play on my ps3 but my controller wont come and there is not even a red light flashing on it and i have tried resetting it but nothing happens

Try another usb cabel if you have one, incase the one you're using isn't charging/putting power through to it.

I have had that with one of my controllers when the battery is flat. It has to be plugged in for a while until it starts flashing the lights to indicate it is charging - maybe 10-15 minutes. Only one of my 5 controllers does this.

like someone said try putting in another cable, if that doesn't work then send it into sony for repair or purchase a new one, i know a site for cheap controllers so let me know if your interested by message.
