Re: How Can I Improve My Download Speed? (BT Wireless HomeHub)

how old is your house?. if the copper wiring in the house is old..this may be your downfall.

try moving the router to the master socket in the house. this can make a huge differnce.  but if your ps3 is a long way off and the signal is low from wifi then it might not make any differnce .

you can by home plugs for about £30 so i would buy them and move the router to the master socket

Below is a Signature

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

If your using wireless and not getting great speeds there are three ways of speeding it up.

1. change your encryption from wep to wpa if you havent already, wep is notoriously slow.

2.Change the channel of your router it will either be on default 1 or may have a setting thats supposed to find the best channel for you, in my experience this doesnt work. Go for channels 6 and upwards these will have less trafic and interference on them.

I did this to my wireless setup and now get the exact same speed from wireless that i get from wired.

Also try using different DNS servers like the google dns or others available

Hope this helps
