I have the following problem. I am based in Japan, and bought a Japanese Playstation3.

I couldn't register with English system language and a Japanese address, so I had to register with my old UK address instead.

Now I am trying to add funds to my wallet, to buy stuff in the shop, and it wouldn't let me - since the console seems "locked" to UK. My billing address is in Japan however and the Playstation Store doesn't accept my Japanese credit card.

Any ideas? Is it possible to charge the wallet online, not from the console?

I told some1 this last week:

Via your pc

www.us.playstation.com

login (top right)

my profile (top right)

manage account (between account settings and friend list)

continue and you'll be taken to your account settings section where you can add funds, change details etc.

(someone suggested doing this via the UK forums, but afaik, you cannot manage your account from there)

thanks, but - same thing. On the page with the billing address (that I HAVE to enter) the region is locked to UK. After checking some forums it seems it's impossible to pay with a credit card from another country than the one the console is registered to.

Great, I have the same problem on my XBox. Fantastic. As if no-one ever moves to a different country...

I couldn't agree with you more,

I've actually stopped buying things on the PSN store because of this.

Even though I have 2 other accounts based in other regions I don't want to use them simply because I am a one account kind of guy.

I use one account for my steam, I use one account for my amazon account and one for my email,

PSN is no exception

PSN  cards = USA only.

Steam - they had a solution for my PC gaming. If anyone needs help there, feel free to ask.

Other PC game purchases online have all had solutions for me - ie SWTOR.

IP always gets in the way and I won't fork out for a proxy unless I buy at least one a month.
