Re: NAT TYPE STRICT MW3.

that dmz shizzle saves you a lot of work without it you have to manually enter every port for psn network and every online game you play, take a look on portforward.com for ports and information guides hope this helps you decide, i know which route to take i would choose , good luck

Re: NAT TYPE STRICT MW3.

you have to set your ps3 a static ip then place that ip into a dmz if your router uses a dhcp server choose an ip at the opposite scale , everything is on port forward .com from setting static ip to dmz you just need to sit down and work it out, oh and once your router is set you then manually enter it into ps3 network setting otherwise your dhcp server will assign it one, completely wasting your time

Re: NAT TYPE STRICT MW3.

ok i have followed the steps of dmz and the static ip is assignedinto dmz.

now you mention the dchp? i checked that on the router and the ps3 is in there with an ip of o.o.o.o.

is this why its not working?

Re: NAT TYPE STRICT MW3.

That would be the problem all the naughts what router have you got? some routers do it by MAC address not IP address i think the BT Hubs do the DMZ by MAC address.

Get your PS3 MAC address from system information in system settings then see if your router does do it by MAC address not IP address.

Re: NAT TYPE STRICT MW3.

on my d link router i had to manually enter both mac address and the ip because i was doing it while connected to pc not ps3 every router manufacturer is different and thats why i pointed you to port forward.com once completed it will say open. keep trying, i know it can be confusing
