I recently switched from xbox to ps3 and for the first couple of weeks i couldn't join my friends parties or when i did join there games i could't talk to them. On Mw2 it says that my nat type is ope but on Black Ops it is strict BUT i have no problems searching for games but i still couldnt join my friends. Then i tried the nat type thing with the static ip address. My nat type was 3 but after a couple of days i could join my friends and talk to them and it was all good. Today i changed my network setting because i have problems when i want to go online because my parents are on computer or my brothers are on the xbox. When i went to play with my friemds i couldnt join them so i went back and changed all the settings and applied static ip and opened the ports and stuff. I still cant join the games. I tried the thing where you go on mordern warfare and then black ops . any ideas on how to fix this? ....

My NAT type was moderate (but still proving annoying, could'n't join parties etc), so what did is I was on the multiplayer menu where it says player match at the top of the list and main menu at the bottom, I then turned off my router and then on again, I whent back to the ps3 and after it had said 'DNS error' I clicked on main menu (so now your sitting in the chair.) I pressed the PS button and clicked on sign in, (sometimes it can't sign in but keep on trying untill you can), once I signed in I clicked on multiplayer and when I clicked 'player match' my NAT was open. Now whenever my NAT is moderate i do this and it always works! Hope this helps. Here is a step by step list of how to do it...
1. Go on Multiplayer menu.
2. Turn router off and on again.
3.When it say's DNS error click on main menu.
4. (when in chair opposite TV in that room) Press PS button and Sign in (you may need to wait a bit.)
5. Once you have signed in click on multi player.
And hopefully it has worked.
