Hey
When I am playing online in "Naruto ultimate ninja storm generations" there is a delay of about 0,5 sec whenever I do some action, which makes it pretty hard to make proper moves and so on.
My network is 50 mbit, and it also says that on my computer whenever I take a speedtest (for example on http://www.speedtest.net/), but whenever I do the same on PS3 it is only about half, 20-25 mbit. And it also says that right after the setup of a network connection to the PS3, where it takes a speed test it self.
I might think that this is the problem of my online gaming delay in the game (it is the only game I have played online on my PS3 so far, so don't know if there should be problems in any other games). Beside I don't think that the game is the problem, cause everywhere people praise how good online gaming is in this game, but I don't want to play online with this delay, it kind of ruins the experience ![]()
So I don't know why my PS3 only has half the amount of mbit, I am paying for.
Anyone knows ? I would really appreciate some help on this
Thanks beforehand ![]()

Probably due to PSN. I have 30Mb down and get around 20Mb on the network, sometimes it's as low as 5Mb.
What you are describing is lag by the sound of it and this has nothing to do with the speed of your connection. It's all down to latency to the server, depending on where that's situated.

So you say that it is the game it self, which causes the lag?
And that it is the playstation network which are the reason for the low speed on my playstation?
Cause at first I thought my setup of the internet on my PS3 was off or smth, but there is nothing wrong with my PS3 or anything, it is the playstation network?
Has it something to do with the upload speed?
One of my friends just told me so, so I got curious, think we got 50/5 mbit at home, can it be the upload speed which can cause lag in online play?
(Almost just got my playstation 3, so I am all new to all this, therefore I am a bit under knowledged, or something xD)
Thanks

Like I said it doesn't matter what speed you have, you could have 100Mb down and 100Mb up, the thing that matters with online gaming is latency/ping. Depends on where the servers are situated in the world, I play Lord of the Rings online and the servers for that are in America. I get roughly 140ms ping on that game and it can lag sometimes.
The link below explains it all.

Okay, thanks mate ![]()
Just annoying to play with that 0.5 sec delay, so hoped I could do something about it ![]()
But anyway, thanks for your help ![]()

That's ok. I've been online gaming now for 11 years and it's always been the same. It can be annoying but I doubt we will ever get rid of lag.

I've been an online gamer for about 7 years or something, never played online on console though, so I don't really know about that and I only has one game which you can play online as well, so it is just kindda annoying, good with some answer, so thank you ![]()
I will probably get more games which features online gaming, so I will see if it is only one game or more and if it has something to do with my internet ![]()
