Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

Simple fact is that if Sony had said in the original PS+ agreement "you will not be able to access your content when your subscription expires" then I wouldn't have subscribed. That is what has happened so I am within my rights to ask for a refund on the service as they did not provide it as per the contract.

They did make it clear.

Approximate value based on average RRP of available content in a one year subscription, excluding discounts, calculated using exchange rates as at May 2010.  Actual value may vary.  Access to some content, excluding discounted content, terminates at the end of the subscription period.

.

Q: What happens when my PlayStation Plus subscription ends?

A: The content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription at no charge is only accessible as long as you are an active subscriber. The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber. Anything you have purchased (even if you purchased it at a discount) will remain available to you even if your subscription ends.

Q: My subscription expired, but I renewed it late. Will I get my content back?

A: Yes you will.

Oooops, I meant to write "Subscription is renewed"

The games say ( expired ) on the PS3 and PSP, but when you click on the games using PS3 it automatically sets the games date with your new sub end date.

Now i know this is a pain to some people ( me included ) but with PSP games saying expired ( delete them from PSP and connect the PSP to PS3 and replace the games again ) It will then show the New Sub Date.

Not you again...

No offense, but please get off this thread, because you clearly haven't experienced the same issue we're facing.

I can't start the expired games. It will not extend the end date when starting the game, but instead it will take me straight to the Store where it wants me to pay for the game.

They are gone from the Download list too and I can't re-download any of them from the Store as it will ask me to pay for them there too.

No offense? then telling me to get off the thread. ***** !!

I have in fact gone through this, and STILL going through it. My content was ( and IS ) missing from my DL listings which means i cannot re-download items, and have had too ( as explained above ) with games on the PS3 re-start them to show the NEW sub-date. Then with PSP remove those games, and re-apply them again from PS3 to PSP just to work, and show new date.

Just because this isn't your exact fault, it's still a fault that confirms to " PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period "

@LittleBigDragonz

what he's trying to say though is that your solution may have worked for you (luckily for some reason) but for the rest of us it isn't - as with Furiekins, when you click on the game to try and run it, it doesn't renew the date since the game's expired, it simply takes you to the store to try to get you to buy the game (in a way in which your game may have been a "trial" when in fact it wasn't) - also if you find the game itself in the PSN store, it has the BLUE downloaded icon (downloaded but not saved/expired) on it instead of the RED icon (downloaded and yours to keep, and listed on the Download list).

As ive said also in a previous message, SOME (repeat SOME) games have, in a roundabout way, started to have been given back to us via this Christmas thing they've been doing whereby every 2 days they're giving an extra game for us to download, and these being ones that have been previously available to people to download during their PS+ subscription with the tag that they're meant for NEW subscribers... but it doesnt allows people like me then to re-download and re-activate a lost game...

some of these games i'm happy to have back but there's still a TON of games that they could EASILY do via THIS method that i'd like to get back, and ones that i only had for about 1 or 2 months before it expired - such as Burnout Paradise, Wipeout HD, Castle Crashers, Golden Axe, Sonic 1 and Streets of Rage.... there's a ton of crap Minis and PSOne games i couldn't care less about getting back since never played them anyway, and other crap like "Stacking" (what the hell is that game all about!?), but those i've mentioned (plus a small handful of others) i'd like to get back - one of those WAS the Sam & Max 5 game pack, which had expired, but this past week they allowed people to download it again, so that was one of the games ive now got back...

IF Sony carry on doing this method PAST christmas and into the new year, then please do - just make sure you re-list some of the games i've mentioned above!

i heard Critter Crunch will be one of the 12 games, which i'll also be happy to get back too... loved that puzzle game :smileyhappy:

and btw, i guess i'll have to repeat the issue here to some people for those skipping messages...

the issue is this:

1: subscribed to PS+ on day 1, 29th June 2010

2: enjoyed subscription until PSN went down for 2 months in February-April 2011

3: PSN came back with a Welcome Back pack (those games still work btw) and also a Welcome Back PS+ extension period to be tagged onto the END of your current subscription, giving you an extra 70 DAYS of subscription...

4: June 29th 2011 hits, and a couple of games expire (but didn't notice this at first - as subscription was continuing into July/August and start of September since got 70 days extension...

5: PSN offer a new subscription offer in July 2011 whereby if you subscribe (or renew) you get SEGA Rally game for free - therefore at end of July, i renew/extend my subscription in order to get the free game offer

6: i continue to enjoy PS+ downloads throughout July, August and start of September, but then ALL of the games (including those i'd downloaded in July and August extension period) expire - this is highlighted to me by the fact that i wanted to play Golden Axe and Burnout Paradise but couldn't....

7: went through all the other games to find out which had expired - pretty much 99% of them had... only ones that hadn't were those i'd just downloaded on September's PS+ refresh

8: this thread starts, have no luck re-downloading games since they're NOT listed on the Download list, and can't re-activate games via other methods either... and we're here right now...

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

I also have the same problem like you have Cousteau2009.

All of my first year content has been expired, even though I continued subscription.

My first 12-moths subscription end day was 9.2.2011. I Ordered it 09/02/2010.

I renewed subscription 30.7.2011 when the previous order was still valid.

I ordered this new one-year subscription when Sega Rally offer was available.

All of my first year subscription games gives following message (minis, PS one and psn games): "This content has expired and is no longer available." Games shows that the expiration date is 09/02/2011, which was my first year subscription end date.

The console is connected to the playstation network and does not get the new expiry date when i try to launch games. Expiration date remains 9.2.2011.

I tried to download the games again from playstation store, but the games are not listed in download list.

In store the games that have been expired have just the blue shopping bag image on them.

So if I would like my expired games to work, I had to buy them again.

I hope that Sony would repair the problem quickly. I'm paying for the service and then I would expect a speedy explanation why the service is not working as it should.

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

@JTi81

cheers for adding your name to the list :smileyhappy:

well, it definitely does seem to be that the problem lies with those who renewed their subscription in July 2011 to get the SEGA Rally offer...

therefore i'm going to suggest that EVERYONE who renewed/extended their subscription in July to get the free game, no matter how many months in advance they were off the end time of their subscription, i suggest you guys check the date of when your games are going to expire, as it's looking more and more likely that the subscription renewal service in July, although technically giving you the access, didnt renew anyone's games....

please, everyone check when (and if) you're games are going to expire if you renewed your subscription in July...
