Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

My balance has increased by £1, I hope this isn't some kind of joke on their part.......

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

did you update your credit card details recently? if so, this might be the usual £1 a lot of companies take to check the authenticity of the card and then pop the pound back onto your credit - Paypal do it for example

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

Nope, it appears to be linked to my purchase of Super Stardust Delta for the Vita, should have been £5 off thanks to my Pre Order code but wasn't. So they've credited me back with 90p.....

Still awaiting my £39.99, even though they offered it to me, they're now saying someone at Head Office has to authorise it.....

Finally paid now, just have to clear the "Expired" content off my PS3 and wait for a suitable offer before signing up again :smileyhappy:

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

Any update on this, all I keep getting is - We are looking in to the matter. Since June of last year I have been affected by this. I wrote a letter threating legal action and got a reply stating that I would get a full refund of all the addon content which no longer works due to the original game (free Content) expiring. I've got to do all the running around as usual.

This has gone far beyond a joke, especially when I was told in December that it would be fixed by the end of Feb 2012!

No mention of all my other content...

Every resolution I put forward is rejected. How hard is it to transfer everything to a new account or re-alocate all the content?

I'm sick of the way Sony have treated us!!!!

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

I've just given up to be honest. I couldn't be doing with the stress and hassle. So I just bought a 360 instead and I'll be using that for all my future gaming, except where it's PS3 exclusive. It's just the way to deal with these things, if a company won't treat you - a wronged customer - well, then vote with your wallet.

I have a lot of content on the PS3 and I'll still use (I'm not knee-jerk selling it or anything, it stil lhas value), but it's a secondary gaming device now rather than a primary. There's no other way a company wil llearn other than by complaining and then moving on to another provider if they continue to let you down.

To be honest, I think it's always hard to judge because you often only ever hear about the horror stories.

The hacking of PSN was a complete nightmare for Sony (and let's face it, is what ultimately has led to this issue). They handled it superbly though by essentially just chucking stuff at people to make them happy. People forgot that they had had a major security breach (and potentially opened up their entire customer base ot fraud) because they got a few free games. It was an excellent bit of PR, but what led to that was exceptionally unprofessional.

I've seen similar things with MS too, where people have managed to bring up high profile issues and MS has dealt with them similarly. They've refunded and occasionally added a bit too.

The thing is, it's all about personal experience. I know a lot of 360 owners who've never had to contact MS at all. Some had the RROD issue and it was dealt with quickly and professionally by MS for the customers (like the PSN issue, it shouldn't happen, but does and it's about the response). So far everyone I know with a PS3 has been affected by the PSN outage. That's every single PS3 user has had their details stolen and potentially used. MS cannot be worse than that. I've also not heard of any issues on any other front (that would affect me). I'm absolutely sure they exist, but I'm not aware of them - much like the majority of PS3 owners aren't aware of this problem.

My issue is the way that you treat your loyal customers. If you are loyal to a brand/company and pay them in advance as part of that, then they should understand that loyalty. This issue is exactly the same as the PSN one, in that Sony have made a screw up that has affected their customers. The difference is that Sony in this case (because it's not in the media) think that they can treat their loyal customers poorly.

Any company that treats me poorly will not get my continued business. If there is an alternative, then I will go with it. If MS screw me over too, then I'll make another decision at that point. However, I will NOT retain loyalty to one company that has treated me badly because "somebody on the internet, on a topic that has massive degrees of fanboyism says the alternative is worse". I have proof that Sony (despite investing hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in their hardware/software) has no interest in treating me fairly, so I simply won't use them - they do not deserve my money. It's really that simple. I will continue using what I've invested in because I've spent the money, but I just refuse to offer Sony any kind of loyalty again. You reap what you sow.

In actual terms of this issue.
I asked for a full refund for both years ONLY. They refunded me one year and cancelled my PS+. I've pushed this back to them, because I clearly stated it was only to be cancelled if it was a refund for both years.

I'm now on my own personal track on this I think, because they cocked up again by doing this. They've offered me the chance to buy back into PS+ and if my old content doesn't work, they'll refund the PS+ subscription. I'm waiting for clarification on if they meant just refund what I've paid, or refund last years and keep the PS+ in place.

The way I pushed it was like this. Sony head office claim they cannot refund the first year's PS+ subscription because "I have fully taken advantage of that year's offering". I said that's not true, because there were games released on PS+ I had less than a month to play on (Burnout for instance). For  me to take advantage of those games, I had to resubscribe. In resubscribing I've lost that, so for those later games I've not had "full advantage".

The problem is getting the point across; as I say I think it's only happened for me because they've messed up my request/demand for refund. Front end staff have been excellent throughout all of this though, they're very professional, courteous and understanding - a complete contrast to the management.

I also have the same problem like you have Cousteau2009.

All of my first year content has been expired, even though I continued subscription.

My first 12-moths subscription end day was 9.2.2011. I Ordered it 09/02/2010.

I renewed subscription 30.7.2011 when the previous order was still valid.

I ordered this new one-year subscription when Sega Rally offer was available.

All of my first year subscription games gives following message (minis, PS one and psn games): "This content has expired and is no longer available." Games shows that the expiration date is 09/02/2011, which was my first year subscription end date.

The console is connected to the playstation network and does not get the new expiry date when i try to launch games. Expiration date remains 9.2.2011.

I tried to download the games again from playstation store, but the games are not listed in download list.

In store the games that have been expired have just the blue shopping bag image on them.

So if I would like my expired games to work, I had to buy them again.

I hope that Sony would repair the problem quickly. I'm paying for the service and then I would expect a speedy explanation why the service is not working as it should.

Oops..in previous message there was few date wrong.

UPDATE:

I got a reply from Sony.

They explained that they are aware that I have lost some content as part of my subscription and Sony support teams have been investigating the cause of this issue for some time now however its very complex and therefore further investigation is still needed.

They have no estimated time when this problem will be fixed.

They offered a refund of the current paid of subscription back to my wallet.
This would end the current subscription. Therefore i would lose my rights to current and old content and they are unable to confirm if any of the content linked to the old subscription including missing content would become available again if I decided to purchase another subscription in the future.

If I don't want a refund then I will need to wait until Sony support teams conclude their investigations and release a fix for the issue.

I refused to take the refund because I want that service will be fixed and I get refund for that time when service have been broken. I have sent this demand to Sony but I have not got response from them yet.

UPDATE:

I got the service to run correctly when I bought a new 90-day subscription and extended my current subscription.

All the games were given a new expiration date when I started up them again.

Now all the games are also in Download list correctly.

Perhaps in previous subscription renewal (Sega Rally offer) there was some bug that old games does not received a new expiration date.

So my case solved with new subscription.

I'll try this out in a minute, LittleBigDragonz said it didn't work, but on the other hand he said it wasn't SEGA Rally that bugged out for him.
