Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

just had a phone call from PSN Support regarding the issue - it does seem now that they've FINALLY identified the problem and so therefore they are currently contacting all of the people who have reported the issue to tell them of various ways they can fix the problem (such as the one we've been suggested here with choosing the renewal option now)... but it does seem they have a few choices, so i'd hear them out if i were you... also appears they may be issuing a fix also, so again, have a listen to what they have to say...

oh and the nice woman on the phone also said that the issue should not have affected anyone who had renewed their subscription post-October 2011, just those during June/July through to end of September...

anyway, either give them a call or wait for them to call you and listen up

It's great that there finally is some progress on this bad situation.

Did they tell you other methods to get our content back than the re-new subscription method?

didnt ask because before she went into it, i'd told her that i'd resolved my own personal version of the issue with the re-sub of 90 days, of which she confirmed that that was 1 method... i didn't ask what the other fixes were to it all because as she was aware, there's a lot of people with different situations as we already know so it's all down to a per-person basis... as i said, wait for the phone call or give them a call...

one thing also she said was that PSN Tech Support had been monitoring people's accounts over the past few months since the issue had been alerted so that they could identify the cause of the issue(s), and this also included what people had been trying such as renewing their subs and such, which in turn has helped them to identify the problem...

Got a call from HO...

The issue is fixed.. Well, not quite!

I have to wait until my renewal comes around and they say the content will magically appear, I can't see how this will work tbh and my subscription isn't due until JULY 2012...

Grrghhh!

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

If you renew now, it will "stack". So you pay them early again, only this time to fix the issue that paying them early last time caused.

At least they've offered us some free content or extra months subscription to apologise for the many months of outage and hassle caused.

Oh, no, wait.... That was in a happy dream where companies like Sony cared about their loyal supporters. Still, when you're making money hand over fist like Sony is, you can afford to upset customers. What? They're losing billions a year? There may be a lesson in here somewhere...

GREAT! Well I'm back to square one!
For some odd reason my subscription renewed early, thought my account had been hacked when I received emails informing me of a purchase. So went online to check and it's my PS+ Subscription which has been taken almost 2 months early... Not only that but none of my previous lost content is available. Sony told me upon next renewal that everything will reappear.... It hasn't! What now? Telephoned my contact at head office with no answer and they haven't returned my messages! This is utter BS!!!!

Re: PS+ Games expired even though renewed within subscription extension period

Just thought I'd chip in with my own experiences:

Unlike most of the people who've posted on this subject thus far, I only discovered this had happened to me within the last few days (ignorance is indeed bliss, it would seem :Stupid:). I was immediately quite puzzled and did the obvious thing: googled it. That brought me to this forum subject where I spent a little time reading through all 20 pages of posts created over the last several months, including the more recent 3 or 4 where JTi81 and Cousteau2009 seem to have stumbled across a solution. Feeling that I had little to lose, I followed their recommended step of purchasing a 90 day subscription (£11.99) to stack on top of my current PS Plus membership and...

...low and behold it worked! It seems that as was correctly summised, the 12 month PS Plus subscription incorporating a free copy of Sega Rally Online was fairly borked and didn't allow free software to renew their respective leases upon booting them up. In purchasing the 90 day subscription my current PS Plus membership on the XMB (listed under Account Management->Transaction Management->Services List->PlayStation Plus) was updated to the title "PS Plus - 90 Day Membership", yet all this did was extend my overall membership by three months and remove the bizarre restrictions/ glitches from the Sega Rally 12 Month Deal (i.e. it states "90 Day Sub" but it now simply expires in June 2013 as opposed to the previous March 2013 date).

In summary: if you purchased the "12 Months PS Plus Sub with free Sega Rally Online" deal when it was available and months later your freebies don't seem to be... well, free, anymore then this 90 day subscription purchase is a proven fix. A big thumbs up to Cousteau2009 and JTi81 for the solution! Thanks guys!
