Hi

Ive been playing a lot of 1 player games lately as I have had some internet issues for a couple of months  so I didnt notice this untill now, but I just got Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition (the Disc version) and wanted to play it online now that my Internet is ok again. I can log into PSN, once in I can view the leaderbaords and watch replays of other players fight no problem, but I cant enter any lobbies or play anybody myself .

I thought it might just be Street Fighter, so I tried uncharted 2, and sure enough it just stays searching forever but never connects to any games. The strange thing is my German friend tried his account on my PS3 and everything works!

I can log into PSN, use PSHome and download stuff from the PSstore, and seem to be able to use all the online features games have except the most important one, PLAYING AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE!. What the hell is going on ? , has anybody else had any similar issues ?, my network connection is showing up as NAT 1 and my  all my other consoles works fine online so Im convinced its my account rather then my euipment.

This shouldn't be considered an answer, in that I doubt any of the information here will be useful, but I had the same trouble with uncharted 2 on the weekend. It just sat at the connecting stage for about 20 minuted while telling me it was synching to the server. It got there eventually though, by which time I didn't want to play it anyways.

After I gave up my girlfriend whacked Black Ops in the PS£ and started playing no probs...

...I guess what I'm saying is; have you tried going online with any games that a larger amount of people are still playing? and if so, do you have the same problems?

It could just be that with most people moving on, there just aren't that many lobbies for you to join.

Yes, Aracde Edition is the latest version of Street Fighter 4, tons of people playing it on PSN and ... that other network that that other console runs on (you know, the one you have to pay for ? ). I noramlly play my online games on that other machine, but I got SSF4:AE for PS3 as well so I can play all my friends, at least that was the plan

Exact same problem as me.I actually posted a thread on it yesterday here it is.

And I cant get on PS home either.I keep getting errors.But my internet is fine it says I can connect fine on internet connection with 100 % connection to my broadband and I can connect to PSN its just when I get on games.So whats wrong its kinda annoying me

My online isn't really working that well.I can connect to PSN just fine but everything after that is not so good.I'll start off so...

I go online in games and always have bad lag.

I havn't played my playstation in a year and went back on 3 weeks ago.

So I started playing Black Ops and every game I get I have bad lag.I don't no if its the game or its my PSN.Then it comes to EA sighhh..

I wanted to go back and play BFBC2 but with no success.I can't get any games and the games I get I'm kicked out of or I have bad lag or it says I can't connect to EA.Now EA is wrecking my head because sometimes I can connect and sometimes or most times I cant.So I can't play BF.So i wanted to go back on Madden 11 and once again can't connect to EA then I went off and back on and connected but got into a game and had awful lag and the game ended and I dnt no if I was kicked ir if he left because I just scored a TD.So thats Madden gone.

Then its the fifa 12 demo and I still can't connect to EA so thats a lil annoying.

So I can do the exact stuff you can m8 but cant get online games

By the sounds of things it's your connection as if it was a fault with psn the forums would filled with people complaining about connection problems.

Have you checked you router under devices connected to see if your ps3 has been assigned an ip that is being used by something else.

Are you wired or wireless ?

Who is you isp ?

Wired

PS3 has a static IP address and is in a DMZ, so no routing issues.

20mb down, 3mb up fibre optic connection.

Have tried with all other devices in the house off, no difference.

If it was a connection issue, why did my friends acount work perfectly on the same machine

just throwing this out there... would a ban cause these issues?

Seems a very unusual issue your provider isnt blocking access to the any online gaming at all i.e bandwith limits usage limits etc etc

That's a good point - it might be an idea to check the usage policy you have with your ISP, even most unlimited broadband packages have a sneaky 'fair usage' clause hidden in them

Bandwidth limit is 250gb a month, hardly a factor I would have thought, that still woudlnt explain why my friends account works.
