there is only 1 feature from live that i'd really like on the ps3. that is the invite/join system. cross game chat would be ok but meh who cares. i have both systems (well all systems actually) and i much prefer psn over xbl any day. live seems to be filled with little children who only know how to play like dcikheads. plus i dont "personally" know anyone on live. all my real friends have ps3's. the way the xbl store is set up is a joke compared to psn. the d/l games are pathetic compared to whats on offer from psn. another really annoying point about xbl....

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT!!!

i have major nelson on my twitter and he is forever saying "we know about the problems, live will be back up and running soon". now, in au where i live 12 months at retail costs ~$100. *****? $100 for a buggy lag infested joke?! pfft. dont even get me started on the dash! you know how our xmb is slow when playing a game? the dash is way slower when not in a game!

so, i really dont think psn needs to play "catch up"

With PSN doesnt it anoy people when you cant invite gamers who are in another game into your game, doesnt it anoy people that in PSN people dont stay muted "got to do at the start of every match", doesnt it anoy people when you cant report people on the fly, doesnt it anoy people when you cant join a friends game, doesnt it anoy people when you can not have friends in a chat channel instead of having to mute none friends, doesnt it anoy people that you cant see what game mode a friend is playing so you can decide if the game mode is for you. Doesnt it anoy people that all PSN has to offer in terms of communication is chat by dashboard text. Or ingame chat?

You can go on all day about the downloads, content and actual marketplace verses PSS. But the fact is the above features are on live and work so well. These are the features online gamers want with friends on the system. Its a pain having to send a chat msg to say. Get on cod for a game. It behind the times. I enjoy playing cod on ps3 with my friends, but i hate the fact that these standard features are not in the PSN and dont look to be coming anytime soon. Microsoft know what proper gamers with friends want and need to make it easy to game. PSN really need to sort something as it has been 2 years and nothing in these terms of features. Adding PSS content and the PSH is ok. but untill they start to add solid features xbox live is always gonna be ahead. Remember xbox live pass over from the xbox to the 360 with ease. with a few extra features sure but the standard online gaming features were there. So when and if microsoft creates a new console. its gonna happen again. The live service is there and is there to stay. 40 pounds for these features is worth it for an adult "30" who loves online gaming, true young kids might not be able to afford it. PSN is always there also. But i for one do think "which console shall i buy a certain game for". Xbox with awesome live service and ease of getting together with friends. Or PSN which is a ball ache. I love my ps3 and the friends i get to game with as alot are my real life friends from school from 15 years ago.

To the person who said live is full of screaming kids, block mute and it stays that way unlike PSN, or if your abused verbly report. Come on guys you can not deniy these features are needed for true online gamers with friends on the system.

I'll agree that some of these features could be implemented with good effect, but what then if sony started charging for a monthly service to psn? how many people would be complaining then? It's a Kobayashi Maru for Sony at the moment.

people moaning about cross game chat, seeing how ms own the patent for cross game chat since 2005 i cant see sony using this untill they have a work around but untill then no cross game chat. tbh im not fussed about it, its not like its the be all and end all of the ps3 after all.

Cross game chat isnt the thing which im missing the most tbh. Its the way to join invite and get together with friends. The whole package. not just the cross game chat. But again it they implimented all this and charged 40 pounds for it. i would be happy anyway as its nothing to pay 40 pounds a year for good online service and features.
