It used to download patches and downloaded demos etc once, I've bought PSN Plus again after a while and the auto update is not working o.o doesn't sync trophy info, doesn't automatically back up game saves that I've turned it on for and doesn't download patches :smileysurprised: what's going on? :smileysurprised:

Same here, seems to have happened to a lot of people. There have been loads of threads posted. There is probably an interim solution but there are too many posts to check and try out that I don't have the patience to try - you may have better luck doing a forum search. I'm happy to wait for a patch to resolve it

Quick google search found this......

Hello

I apologize for any frustration that this may have caused you. I can definitely assist you with this issue. We are aware of the issue and anticipate a fix for the issue in the next system software release.

In the meantime there is a workaround. Please try the following:

1. Set auto updates to come on in the time frame you're in right now. i.e. so if it's 5pm now, set it to 4pm - 6pm.
2. Go to [Date and Time] in [System Settings] > [Date and Time Settings], and change it to the opposite it is now. i.e. if it is set to 'Update via Internet', change it to 'Manual' or vice versa.
3. Turn the console off.
4. The PS3™ should come back on and auto update...however, it will not auto update again.
5. Once it has updated as above, turn the console back on, and go back into 'date/time' and set it to the opposite again, so if you changed it to 'Manual' change it back to 'Set via Internet'.
6. Turn off the console and it'll reboot again and update.

The PS3 will only auto update when the [Date and Time] has been changed to the opposite of what it currently is set to. I apologize again, I know that this is an inconvenience and we will resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Jason H.

Re: PSN Plus auto update not working D:

ok , thins is how to fix it and it worked. I had been struggling for a week to sort it.

First the downside - you need to be at your ps3 at the time you want the updates to take place so if you want it to work in the middle of the night set your alarm.

Got to auto downloads and turn it off. Leave the menu then return turning the auto update back on for the time period that covers when you are doing this. So if you want to do it at 2am to 4am do this between 2and4.

Next go to time and set it to update manually . Leave the menu then re enter and set to "set by internet"

Next go back to auto update and select on and re select the same time its on already.

Now shut down and the ps3 should boot straight back up and update and will continue to do so each day.

Thought this was getting fixed in the next firmware. .. 3.72 now and it still don't work. When will this PAID feature be working or will you be extending my ps+ for the length of time it's not working and the stress of having to sit in front of the bloody machine in the early hours of the morning to instigate the updates.

Re: PSN Plus auto update not working D:

Auto update does work but only on the last so many games you have played but if there's no updates what do you expect it to do make stuff up.

Re: PSN Plus auto update not working D:

I expect to go through the hundreds of games I have and to update as many as it can in the period I granted it power and internet access
