PSN games on 2 home consoles

Hi I am a complete newbie and apologise in advance as my 9 year old son knows more than me but we cant work out how we will do the following if it can be done ! Here I go !!!

my 2 sons have ps3's and I hold a master account with both of them on I woud like to buy Doctor who for them on PSN it says you can play the game on two consoles can someone explain if this means I could  buy the game once and they could play it on both consoles but under their own Playstation ID? If so how would I do this.

this would be great because I could still buy them a game each but they could both have each one !!!

Thanks in advance for your answers !!!

Lynn

Re: PSN games on 2 home consoles

I haven't got any sub accounts on my ps3 but as i understand the way it works.

If you buy any games on your master account then any sub accounts can access & play the games you have bought .

Hopefully someone will be able to inform you better as to whether i am correct or not.

Re: PSN games on 2 home consoles

Yeah you can play it on the sub accounts on the your other PS3's but both PS3's must have the Master account connected to it, I have 2 PS3's and I have downloaded a load of games including PS+ games and my Girlfriend can play the games on her own ID on both with no issues. You just need to download the game again on your other PS3 using your master account. Don't delete the master account on any of the PS3's though as the game stops working.

One question though.. you said if you delete the master account the game won't work? If you delete the master account (which I did, not knowing that this would happen), can't you just add it back after?

Re: PSN games on 2 home consoles

You need to recreate your master account. Which is simply a case of creating a new user, and then choosing the option 'Use Existing Account' and putting your details back in
