Following a post in technical forum and more to the point a rather dense response someone gave to my point i have decided to bring the issue in to this forum. Figures and facts can't be denied.
PSN went down here on 20/04, PSN store finally opened up again on 03/06, which makes 45 days outage.
My psplus sub is due to run out on 02/07 but has been extended to 31/08 which makes precisely 60 days
So...............
non psplus subscribers get 30 free days compensation
while those who are paying subscribers only get 15 free days compensation
Sony shoot themselves in the foot yet again, marvellous

PS+ subscribers were still able to play the games they obtained through the service during the outage, and were able to buy the games and get the discounts when the service resumed.
As a gesture of goodwill PS+ users were given 40 extra days.
I don't feel short-changed to be honest. On the contrary even.

Oh god give me strength,
02/07 to 31/08 is 60 days NOT 70, where is this 40 days compensation coming from?
And seeing it was down for 45 days that still wouldn't be enoough, people who paid nothing get 30 days, whilst we who paid the 40 quid a year only got given 60 days........to make it even we should at least have got 75 days but there is a strong case for the argument that those who had invested in the service should be given a bit more, NOT LESS!

have you been given 60 days or 70 days?
yes of course we could play the content we already had but for 45 days we could not get anything new so how does 15 days for us and 30 days for non subscribers balance things out, do you see my point?

Seeing matey in technical is still not gettin his nut round basic numbers I best clarify what I am trying to point out before somebody else tries to give me a smart answer or pastes a link to the article that says we been given 10 extra days because we have not, well not to date anyway!
My sub expires on 02/07/11 and has been extended to 31/08/201, that is exactly 60 days so where is the mysterious extra 10 days that should be 15 anyway?
Sony spent over 6 weeks telling us PSN would be back on in a few days, I'm merely daring to suggest their concept of time is very different to the rest of the world.

Thought the blog / Sony originally said something like ..... we get 30 days free PS+ & existing PS+ get 60 days extension.
maybe the extra days sub will be added nearer the time, don't panic just yet.
What was on PS store in the 45 day outage that you still can't access now ?? Anything ?
I personally joined PS+ just before outage - hadn't downloaded anything from PS+ store because it had nothing i wanted. still doesn't.
I did upload all gamesaves to CLOUD 20/04/11 - delete from HDD to save space & 21/04/11 was left unable to play all but 2 games ,because i couldn't re-download any Saves or DLC for my games.![]()
We were compensated for Network downtime - Not store downtime.
Although many gameplay features were unavailable to some due to both PSN & PS store being down.
Unfortunately SONY have done all they are going to .... Best get used to it.

^this, that's how I understood it anyhow. the PSN, not the store.
i've had my 60 days added (which was for the PSN outage). and then they said they'd add 10 days on at some stage to compensae for the extra time in getting the store back up.
no date as to when that is happening though so far.

Right there you go, so you already emphasising my point all the more.........you lost 45 days of access to your game save data you have paid for but are only getting 60 days back when those who have paid nothing get 30 days for niche!
And as for what have we missed from store content, well nothing really i accept because what they were goin to whack in there in april is in there now obviously BUT non subscribers get free 30 days to play them whilst we who paid the sub only get 15 free days as it is or 25 days if/when sony decide to credit us these elusive extra 10 days they said they would.
Regardless it will still be a week's shortfall for those who were weighing on for the service. Why should those who paid nothing get more than those who did? It is unfair, end of.
And had you signed up to the service this time last year when it launched you would have found more to tickle your fancy than there has been this year. Of course sony have lobbed a bit more dlc in to the psplus package since PSN resumed, but given the circumstances they didn't have much choice but to do that.
The bottom line by giving non subscribers 30 days sony should at least give subscribers the same plus the amount of days psn store was down for which is between 45 and 47 days, 40 days never mind 30 is not adequate and thus I for one cancelled my automatic renewal for psplus as soon as I realised.

I have to laugh at this and as you can see, so does my cow !
I am a none PS+ subscriber who has 30 days free, the UK service is rubbish and not worth paying for, friends in America have told me what they get on US Ps+ store and it is far better than ours as usual.
The reason i laugh at this is that you are all taking about loosing days, the real issue is again with the quality of the UK service.
