Why in gods name is there such a crap selection of PS1 games on the UK PSN?

I take one look at the USA's list of games and it's eye watering to think that it could be so much better for us brits. Tomb raider for example was originally made by a UK company for christ sake but we dont seem to have it for download.

What is going on here?

I feel your pain DrMorris. It annoys Me that the PS1 selection HARDLY even gets updated.

But when the selection does eventually gets updated we get crap like:

Creatures3 

Jet Rider & Jet Rider 2 

Magic Carpet

The Little Mermaid 2 

Reel Fishing 

&

Sheep..!? 

And most of these games i've never even heard of, is this really the best they can give us!?

And i agree with Tomb Raider, i live in the City it was made in and we still don't get it lol!

Couldnt agree more. I've heard of creatures but that was about twenty years ago on the C64. And Reel fishing? C'mon!! That must have been put on there for one hell of a joke surely?

Wheres - Blood omen legacy of Kain, Loaded, Colony wars, Alien resurection. Games that actually have some meat to them!

I must admit that I dont actually want to play any of these games on the PS3 but more a case of my PSP (they look better on it to boot)

I think it's unfair as well that USA, Japan, mars, get the better selection of games but lo and behold that if you want to buy them you'll be breaking the terms and conditions. These over sea games work on a european PS3 and PSP with no problems at all so what what exactly is the issue here?

Does anyone have an answer to this? I've looked for weeks now trawling the net trying to find out why we dont get any great ps1 games on the PSN but have come up blank..

It's all to do with liscensing issues. Same reason our video store is late and why the NA territories don't get Vidzone or PlayTV. Rules regarding bringing content from one territory to another are different and have to be worked around/through.

They'll come in time. Patience is a virtue.
