Yes, playing on the PSN is free.

PSN is free to use, free to play online and free to download some content. The only subscription is to PlayStation Plus which is for completely optional extras. (

PS+ members are identified by the + symbol next to their ID.)

I have BF3, MW3 and Black OPS - all are amazing games, the campaign on BF3 is nearly identical to MW3 or any COD game, i found myself thinking i was playing COD!

The multiplayer is better on bad company 2 though and on MW3
