Question about the PSN Pass

Hi everybody. I'd like to know for sure wether the PSN Pass is region free or not. Someone told me it is, someone told me that the region isn't important, but what matters is the territory (SCEE,SCEA...).
I already thank you.

I can only guess that it will work the same as DLC, because it'll be a code that you have to redeem. Which means it would be region locked. Don't take my word for it though. As for what I've highlighted in your post, different territories are different regions. For example, SCEE is region 2, and SCEA is region 1.

In a nut shell, games should work on any machine (bar a few), but any codes or DLC has to come from the same store as the region of the game.

Sooo, if say, you live in the UK and have a UK machine, and you import a game from the US. The game should work, but you wont be able to redeem any codes or buy any DLC for it from the EU store. As the store is region 2 and the game should be region 1.

Re: Question about the PSN Pass

But if I live in Italy and buy the game in the UK, aren't they under the same region, right?

Re: Question about the PSN Pass

I'll clear up confusion for you....

The Online Passes that are released at the moment come in the form of DLC. You redeemt the code and download a 100K file. Now here in lies the crux of the matter.

I imported Little Big Planet 2 from the US as it has a much better Collectors Edition. It came with DLC. That DLC would need to be redeemed from the US PSN store (using an american PSN account) in order to use it, any account from any region can play the game and the DLC,

So if you get a UK game to use in Italy you will be fine as the code will be downloaded from the PAL store.

Re: Question about the PSN Pass

So you guarantee that I don't waste my money if I buy the game (Resistance 3) in the UK and then use it (both offline and online) in Italy? I must know that for sure :smileyvery-happy:

Re: Question about the PSN Pass

If you buy a game from the UK to use on an Italian account the DLC will only work if the BLES/BCES codes match the code of the download on your store

Say Resistance 3 bought in the UK has BLES 1234 and and the one bought in Italy is BLES1235 then you will have to match the code from the game to the download DLC

MW2 and Blops had several codes that were used for different EU countries but you could still download the matching DLC from the UK store.

It may be that there will only be one single code for Europe and if thats the case it won't matter. If they use more than one there is a chance they will offer more than one code in the Italian store like they did with MW2 and Blops.
