I think those of us that subscribe anyway are in for a decent month as Sony endeavours to impress all its new "customers"... I'm hoping so anyway, as I have all the games on offer.

Agreed.  I have been PS+ since it first started and it has only got better, but yeah it is Sony trying to get new subers to the service so it will no doubt go all out to impress :smileyvery-happy:

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

It's spelt tendency.

And I mention it only for the irony.

That is not how it will work. Sony will open PS+ up for every one with out subscription. Once the 30 days are over they will close it.You WILL NOT NEED TO SUBSCRIBE TO IT. Then those who subscribe will just carry on as befor whilst those who do not will loose access to PS+ Crustyjockstrap you maybe right, but seeing as the store isn't even back up yet we can't really say for sure. i know most things that offer free trials require you to give them your information first before you can receive them. then you need to cancel it before it expires! we'll just have to wait and see when the psn store opens again. unless it doesn't due to another hack attack. i know the earthquake in japan was terrible for a lot of people, but i think putting a disaster appeal on the store was a mistake. criminal hackers would know people would most likely be giving out their credit card info to donate to the appeal.

I'm (almost) sorry your scope of reply has been reduced to that of the internet spelling police. A worthy cause, no doubt.

I liked that they put an appeal on the store. I hope it raised a lot of funds. I'd be very surprised to find out that was the motivation behind the hacking though.

I personally believe Sony poked a hornet's nest by going after GeoHot and now the world's hacking community, which is probably very tight knit, sees Sony as a target. Much like if your mate got beaten up by a bigger kid, you'd all gang up and go looking for him. It wouldn't matter whether your mate deserved the beating because he was trying to take up-skirt photos of the big kid's girlfriend, to publish on the internet.

I hated the minor celebrity status GeoHot got from the whole affair and think Sony was right to go after the arrogant little grease munger. Unfortunately it seems to have ended up costing Sony a lot more in the long run. For which we all suffer. I suppose one of the upsides is the in-fighting that broke out amongst Anonymous.

It wasnt a mistake, it was a very good idea. Seeing the option there as I was going to buy a COD map pack for zombies actually changed my mind and i put the money into the appeal instead. It was the fact that I was reminded about the real world issues being faced by some people as I was about to throw stupid amount of money away on an hours worth of zombie fun that made me donate through PSN.

Aside from that dont think that our store purchases would make us more or less susceptible to card fraud, or even if our store purchase history was something that was taken or could easily be deciphered to show potential high risk groups (such as RCA donators).

On top of all that, there is the fact that the card information has not been confirmed as being taken, and the card database was encrypted.
