I had this problem a while back, I emailed them and they sorted it.... no arguments nothing I just explained and they fixed guess it depends on the person you get on the phone/email

Although I did get an email saying it was a gesture of good faith and would not necessarily be repeated luckily I've had no need for it to be

Re: Sony will not let me use my account as intended

Same problem with me.  I've had my id's reset in the past so now Sony is refusing to do it a 2nd time.   So you might be wondering why would I want to reset my accounts?  I like to have a ps3 on each tv in the house (4 in total).  EBgames in Canada had a promotion on to trade in your old PS3 and receive a $200+tax credit towards another system.   To me this was a no brainer, because I would be getting a new warranty, new controller, and a more efficient PS3.   The only catch was that the promotion was on while the PSN was down so I couldn't remove the accounts from the old PS3's.   So, I call up Sony and ask if they could reset my accounts if I trade in the PS3's.  They assure me that they would be glad to reset the id's once that service was available.  So I trade in the PS3's and call up Sony...guess what, I'm told in an arrogant voice that the reset "IS NOT GONNA HAPPEN".  Great customer service SONY.   I buy multiple Sony PS3's, TV's and PSP's and the best that you can do is 'IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN'...try to think out side the box will ya.  Pushing away a devoted SONY supporter is just bad business.   Also, don't forget I had no way to deactivate the accounts on my own...was that really my fault?

Re: Sony will not let me use my account as intended

Their customer service is absolutely terrible and their service as a whole. Next gen I'm gonna steer clear, actually I'll prob be 30-odd and will hopefully have grown outta gaming!!
I had to get them to reset an account for me after two phone calls and loads of emails. They only reset one for me even though I've sent 3 back to be replaced by dodgy refurbs.

You know the Sony ethics: the customer is a thief unless they can prove otherwise.

Re: Sony will not let me use my account as intended

I received an email this morning apologizing for the way I was treated....all accounts have now been reset. Sometimes like any company you get a bad apple. Thankfully the person sending the email was very helpful....thx SONY
