I purchased Splinter Cell Chaos Theory HD last night. Had it on the Xbox many moons ago. What a game.

FInally got it installed this morning and fired it up. What? Where is the multiplayer?

Yes that's right. The multiplayer has been ripped out of it, even the local co-op mode has been removed. The graphics have not been updated, only the resolution has changed.

I am extremely disappointed. I purchased this game expecting the full content, not half of it! I would be grateful to be refunded for this purchase as there was NO mention that the multiplayer had been removed in the description. 

Just a warning for anyone else that was in two minds whether to get it or not. No co-op or multiplayer...

Says its 1 player and makes no mention of online, this is usually how most games without online say they don't have online.

Is making a game 720p, 1080i, 1080p not a graphics update? what do you expect for £4.00 (ps plus) or £7.99?

edit - oh, and its in 3D, I think thats quite a graphics update over the original.

I expect the whole game including the multiplayer for a 7 (Coming up to 8) year old xbox game for £7.99 (4.99 as a loyal PS+ customer).

It's not really a graphics update at all is it... It only upscales, they havn't retouched any renders, heck even the title screen's logos have the most horrific jagged edges. Hasn't even got anti-aliasing by the look of it. It's just the same as you changing your computer monitor resolution...

The graphics I can deal with, no multiplayer? That's just a rip-off

exactly, a 7-8 year old game. Wheres the profit in spending time to sort out an online mode for a game that old?

Least now you know to check the game description more or to check some gameplay vids on youtube before impulse buying a game

I checked the game description. It does not say there is NO multiplayer.

Sorting out an online mode? The game should already have it, the original game had it. That's the point. The original game also had a split-screen co-op mode.

Perhaps you should go read up on what the game should contain then compare it when you have spent your money on the PSN version and found out half the content is missing. In fact, the main content...

it's £4 to PS+ subscribers, not £4.99...

anyway, to be fair, it's just a "HD upgrade", aka higher resolution, just like some other recent "HD upgrades" of PS2 Classics...

and also, to be honest, who's going to be online on a server waiting for a multiplayer of Splinter Cell 3 these days when the game's that old anyway? most multiplayers will be playing the latest games online such as MW3, Killzone 3, etc etc not a 7 year old game

these HD updates that have been coming out lately are just for those people who enjoyed/want to enjoy the single player experience, hence the cheaper price

if you want multiplayer in Splinter Cell, get the latest one on PS3 or wait for the next SC game to come out, or move on to something else

£7.99 (PSN price) however in general isnt a great price for this game, £4 is though but you can also buy all 3 games on a single disc - Retail - for around £13 nowadays anyway if you look carefully enough
