I dont care about iplayer.

I'm only marginally annoyed by the nasty grey background on the friends list.

The clock is a slight irritation but the XMB for the visually impaired with no option to revert it makes me want to turn off the PS3 and wait for the next update. Just because some developer thinks gigantic icons are a good idea it doesnt mean tens of thousands of end users will agree. Thats why we need that option! We dont all have our computer displays set to 640x480 just because it makes the icons clearer!

LOL n00bs the above some mentioned is great it adds something new to the XMB. But really Cross game chat isn't essential for any true gamer. Do I want to chat to friends while playing different games to hell I won't its unneeded for action/adventure or racing. .....er and ha ha I can listen to my awesome music anywhere that allows it LOL

I've been talking to the guys in the office and everyone agrees that this update has a negitive user experence. The graphical changes are absolutly dire! As they say " a camel is a race horse designed by comity" firmware 3.00 Sony's camel

Sony I'm sure by now the thousands of complaints have registered with your staff and you'll be getting rid of the gray box friend list and making the font/text size optional at the very least asap. The glitter on intro needs to go too in my opinion.

Also I have an idea for the logo to use on screen as at least 99% of your customers still own the original (fat) PS3's with the spiderman font(which I kind of prefer but understand the reasons for the change).

How about the logo that appears on screen is the simple PS logo(P with the S behind that's been on all playstation consoles since day one, white on black screen would be preferable).
You could bring this back to appear with the chime when lauching games etc. This so identified Playstation 3 for so many !

After living wih the new update for a while, its not really THAT bad, however i do agree with most people along the lines of, why why why are those grey boxes there in the friends list. This is a massive step backwards in modern design, whoever thought of this idea at Sony and managed to push the idea through into development and deployment should be fired. I really do hope Sony decide to implement a new update by the end of the year to get rid of these and bring in options to customise the layout/design. Also, not sure why they took away the screen you get when you enter a game, kinda liked that, but not a big loss.

Overall i do think this is a slight step forward, get rid of the grey boxes, then it will be a bigger step forward.

Dont mind firmaware update 3.0 hate the fact music options gone however should be reolved *crossing fingers* but does slightly bug me the sparkles on theme and the music and logo change however will have to get used to. Roll on 3.1.

Why not simply replace the grey friends list boxes and use the status colours instead (blue for online, red for offline and amber for do not disturb)
