Re: Unable to Sign In to Playstation Network

Overnight( UK Time) the Jap team where working on it today SCEE have been all over it and now I THINK its back 2 the Jap Team for monitoring. Its gonna be a 'wait and see( and hope!) ' policy for internal clocks resetting

A 'semi' explanation - the internal clock doesnt need to be 'jumped' via the tinternet as it keeps track of the time even if your systems diconnected from the mains. Removing the battery is NOT AVISED IN ANY WAY but especially not if your still in warranty. You should also expect that even if things do sort themselves out that acceess to PSN will be tempramental at best as it'll be facing a mass service demand and even with extra resources in place you would expect some level of service denial.

Something users can do to expidite things is to simply try and access PSN for gaming and avoid doing a Trophy Sync as this requires more information being exchanged than your gaming does. I know some people are really concerned abut thier trophies but babysitting the netwrok till it gets to grips with the service demand IS the best way to go. Your trophies arent held locally( on your machine) they're held on PSN and as PSN itself doesnt have any problems they WILL be there even if it takes a day or 2 for them to all sync back. This is the same for any DLC that you may own - it'll be sat in the store and ready for download just look for the RED shopping bag symbol next to items you've already purchased.

From chats ive had with people today I know that the forum staff have been working like crazy to try and keep you in the loop but this is such an extreme situation its been a catch up programme since we told SCEE about this 21 hours ago - im pretty certain this situation is so statistically unlikely that they had no disaster recovery plan for it.

What we DO both need and deserve is a full, frank and honest explanation regarding what happened from someone EXTREMELY high up( ie: above MB, Yaster and the rest of the forums teams paygrade) an an acknowledgement that they dropped the ball and most importantly what is being done to prevent such a massive mess up in the future.

To all those who have come out with "meh meh meh im gonna buy an XBox" I hope that both you do and that your systems burst into flames @ midnight - ITS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION THAN PART OF THE PROBLEM - and whinging like that achieves nothing. We've all been upset by this but stuff like that doesnt help anyone eh :smileywink:

At midnight the 167 users in my clan who own PS3's and are spread across 7 countries will be doing a coordinated access test and feeding it back to the Mods here and other contacts we have within both SCEE & SCEA and identifying any errors of concerns that need to be looked @. Obvs I'll post up here aswell but lets not all go mentalist if @ 00:00:01 we cant get on.

As MB's gone to bed - quite deservedly you can feel free 2 follow me on twitter @RuggerBuggerUK for live feed updates overnight - just be warned that I dont just block I also report flammers/ spammers lol

Fingers, Toes Legs and boy-bits crossed for midnight-2am eh ppl :smileyvery-happy:
