guys, it has nothing to do with your games at all. 2 days ago my brother had the same problem where he was playing a game (mw2) and got signed out of psn. he called me and asked me to sign in using his account at my house and it didnt work either. this happened at around 11.45 pm (uk time). He decided to call sony and they said that they are making scheduled server maintenance and that it should come back on in a few hours and only affects around 20% of users.

that night i was able to sign in using my accound and 2 others, however, now i cant sign in either. 

so what i'm saying is that it should hopefully come back on at around 2am (uk) as it did the other day.

btw, my date and time shows as 31st december and 11.43pm lol

your experience the other day was SCHEDULED maintenance.  they do this every week.  what is happening now is an unscheduled outage.  no telling how long it'll take.  could be 5 minutes, could be Tuesday.

it probtly has to be something with the big US PSN site being revamped that went wrong. Their forums was cooking too with same error.

The whole US PSN site also just went down http://boardsus.playstation.com/

At least i know there is a server problem. I thought my account had been suspended for some reason... Same here with the clock matter. 31/12/1999, u cant even set it to that so very weird.Thanks for the help people.
