of course there is allways a catch

its says ive got half of my normall speed

my speed is ***** allready on the ps3 it used to say 2.1mbps with .3kbps on my upload

now it says 1.0 mbps or lower with the same upload

its odd because i was play bf3 just a moment ago after i used the fix and experineced no differnce in lag

please explain

also why would this error code occur and require me to completly change settings

would the fact that my dad was messing with the router of done something

Hi JAKonaROLL welcome to the community forums if your going on speed results with a PS3 connection test i have found the results pretty inconsistent and inconclusive so i always take them with a pinch of salt.

Using a speed test site via the PS3 browser will probably give you more reliable speed results but that can also depend on the site your testing on compatibility with the PS3 browser try these links.

I get more or less the same results with the above links on PC and PS3 browser i just dont find the PS3 connection test results reliable or trustworthy.

hi everyone, I;ve pretty much tried everything on here but sadly nothing has worked, the weird thing is that the PS3 did work before updating to 4.10.... Any help? Thank you

A few have been reporting problems after the update it cant be update 4.10 otherwise there would be thousands reporting the error. 

Out of curiosity who's your internet provider and which router and/or modem do you use i wonder if anything has been changed or updated on the router or ISP side.

This did not work I even tried the ones on top and they didnt work....I have bright house modem and Linksys router should I be doing something different?

If your connection allows it remove the modem and just use the router most routers don't require the use of a modem they'll do the job for both.

I have recently been experiencing these problems. I have tried countless different recommended DNS numbers but none of them pass the internet connection test.
I have reset the modem, reset the PS3 to factory setting, still returning the DNS error. I have also tried using an ethernet cable to the PS3 instead of the wireless connection i usually use (also the ps3 is right next to the modem so there is 100% signal strength) however the ps3 does not recognise the connection and says to insert an ethernet cable into the ps3 when it already has been.
I have updated the firmware on the VMDG280 Netgear (I'm with virgin) also, the problem was here before and after the update.

Im basically running out of ideas of what to do, any help would be much appreciated!

I have tried this fix and it hasn't worked for me. I have only started having the problem after the latest update whenever it was. I am with BT and have Infinity so speed isn't an issue. Kind of stuck at the moment since I constantly get this error any feedback from Playstation Support would be much appreciated
