strangeplaice Funny, I have had no problems gaming on BT Home Hubs, the problems that I have with them, do not cause problems to my gaming.
t'was only a joke I'm on BT too. I've had worse in terms of service, their hardware has a very bad reputation though. Mine was great till it encountered a cat. Now my new Hub is utter piddle.

thanks for all the input, will take a look at some of these over the weekend, especially the sky unlimited one...
i'm with sky & can't rate them highly enough. the truly unlimited aspect makes them unique.
a word of caution for everyone though.
only consider switching if they are llu for you (have their own equipment in your exchange).
you can check this here http://www.skyuser.co.uk/tools/exchangechecker.php or on sky's own site.
if not, they'll offer you 'sky broadband connect' ( resold bt adsl1), which i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy
