Why no refunds???

My fiance bought me Battlefield 3 last week over psn. I was under the impression it would allow me to download in portions as I have a 10 gig cap and the game is 13 gig big. Surely they realise not everyone on the planet has uncapped data??? So I can't download it. They won't refund her, even though they can surely see the game hasn't been downloaded. So I bought an additional 10 gig to download the thing. When reaching about 40% of the way, it disconnected. TWICE. No network problem as it reconnects immediately after I cancel the download. This has become the most expensive game I've ever bought and I don't even own the thing. Pointless wasting more money trying to download it when the useless machine disconnects for no reason. And the people in charge won't pay our money back. At least I've still got my XBox as I'll do my best to NOT support ps3. Thanks for nothing Sony.

I don't see how this is Sonys fault.

Why would you be able to down load a game in portions from anywhere with out the whole game it is usless.

I do think they should put how big a game is on store so it will give you an idea before you buy something rather than after you have paided.

Didn't your fiance think of buying it for you from a shop as it would have been alot cheaper aswell.

To get unlimited internet isn't that costly if you look around you could probably find a package for the same price you are paying now.

You can download it in bits, download so much, then pause it?

Re: Why no refunds???

i agree with BiosNova you can pause and resume anytime and therefore you should not go over your download limit, and if you select download in background that is when you can do this, also it does not matter about disconnects as it will resume where it left off.

Re: Why no refunds???

The myth of no refunds is just that , however in your case you are not entitled to a refund , if you download a game and it does not work you are entitled to a refund , if you purchase something twice on the same system you are entitled to a refund.

Company's say no refunds in their T&C however this is illegal as your statuary rights can never be over written .

I think it is more to do with a lack of understanding from the consumers perspective.

1. Add funds (non refundable)

2. make purchase (refundable)

If you add funds to the psn wallet then that is non refundable (not sure of the legitimacy of this)  but if you make a purchase you are then protected by your statutory rights.  The game/DLC in question may actually be refunded for whatever reasons but the ammount will simply be returned to your psn wallet.

adding funds is a seperate transaction.  If you added funds to the store then sony have kinda made it clear that these will not be refunded.  I'm not sure of which laws that would allow you to get those funds back because no sale has taken place and it would come under money laundering (hard to explain but true)

adding funds to online accounts is a quagmire.
