Hi,

I got a headphone headset and when I mute my headset, the headset icon sometimes says that it makes noise when my headset is muted.

Is that normal that it sometimes says there is sound when it is muted?

Is this the Sony 7.1 one? I get that with mine, mic is muted but sometimes in game it will light up as if I'm speaking.

Another thing I've noticed is that sometimes the little box will keep appearing in the top right screen for a few seconds. Only way I've found to stop it is to switch it off and take out the USB dongle then reconnect.

Yes that's what i mean that your mic is muted but sometimes it light up that you are talking.

Do no one heares you when your mic is muted but sometimes your headset light up shows that your talking?

The mute function Is software based. when you press mute on the headset the software kills the mic audio from being broadcast. The actual headset ~MIC continues as nothing has happened.

Digital noise of the software mute going over the internet will trigger games mic audio icon to animate.

For some crap games its normal.

Seems normal to me and it only happens every once in a while.

If the mic is muted then they can't hear you.

Happens to me always on MW3, when someone in the lobby is talking my mic icon lights up even though I am on mute. PX21's. You can fix this by unplugging your headset
