hey guys just thought id post this up because iv got a bit of a query regarding the update later on, basically all i wanted to know is iv never updated the ps3 through storage media before now this is the first time ...i know you download it from the ps site but all i was wondering is will the update be available to downlaod from the ps site the same time as it is available through ps3 ?

any help is very much appreciated cheers guys

I am pretty sure it will be the same time, I am probably wrong but I'd imagine they would stick the download up and have the PS update path and the downloadable storage path set as the same thing.

This is what I will be doing this time, easy to do and seems a lot quicker than doing it through PS3.

For those that don't know how to do it...

1. Create a folder on your USB stick called PS3

2. Inside that folder create another folder called UPDATE

3. Download FW 3.0 into UPDATE folder

Both the folder names have to be in capitals otherwise your PS3 won't recognise them.

I dont think it will go on the website until the update has been rolled out worldwide,

to stop americans etc updating theirs early
