reporting someone on psn

Hi,

I have just reported someone for some pretty horrific and sexually explicit messages I received while playing fifa. My question is will PSN contact me and let me know the outcome, ie if the user has been suspended or anything?

I dont usually bother reporting people, to some extent I have started to expect a bit of abuse being a girl who plays fifa and being in the  minority. This guy today has just took it way too far and made me so angry! To be honest im fed up getting messages and wish you could just stop receiving them off anyone!. Im even contemplating just stopping playing online because of it. Im not a crap player but im not amazing either, I just play to have a laugh and chill out but it seems as though whenever i win a game i get an abusive message of some kind off someone. These messages i got today were the worst ive ever had and along the lines of 'where do you live so i can come and r**e you' along with a lot more explicit things he was gonna do. Then he finished with the old 'get back to the kitchen you sl*g', you must be a le****n to be on fifa' blah blah blah. Obviously I ave blocked him but its just made me so mad.

I understand the game is frustrating at times and it really annoys me sometimes too but I would never send anyone a message like that, at the end of the day its just a game. Tonights made me really fed up :catsad: Im sorry about the rant just realised i sound like a right whinger! Hope someone can answer my question anyway about will psn let me know whats going on or not?

Re: reporting someone on psn

There are plenty of morons out there but don't let people like that ruin your enjoyment of playing games.

There are also plenty of them that don't like losing no matter who you are easiest way to deal with them is just report them & move on.

You will probably find that most of the abusive people are kids.

These people need to learn it just a game & it's not like the outcome will affect anything in their life.

Re: reporting someone on psn

I love my fan mail. I've had a few in the last 3 months or so. If it's offensive then it gets reported but if it's funny then they usually get some witty reply.

Had somebody call me a gay noobtuber not along ago and my reply was "Thanks sweetie xxx. If you require tips then let me know." They were then blocked lol.

I've probably had abuse over the mic on COD but because I've got a headset I usually turn the chat volume off, just so I don't hear it.

Re: reporting someone on psn

Thanks for your replies, feel a bit better now, i think maybe i just needed a rant haha

I didnt realise that you could change your settings so that only friends can message you and stuff, Ill def have a look at that next time im on! Its a shame cos  ive made some pretty good gaming friends by playing online but I guess theres always gonna be d**kheads around just like there is in the real world eh.

Ohh and yeah my team beat his, we scored in the 90th minute so i guess thats why he was annoyed. Anyway gonna forget about him (or her) now, not worth the effort to be angry

Re: reporting someone on psn

'Get back to the kitchen' is a funny one I think, as if we didn't spend at least some time there, the entire male gender would starve.

And remember, a lot of men (actually, they're mostly pre-pubescent boys) can't stand the embarrassment of being beaten by a female at gaming.

I laugh at them, that makes em even more mad.
