update 2.80 new feature possibly

i found this on avforums about a guy who has found a new fix for controller ports. I know there is a 2.80 thread, but I think this is important enough to put to have its own topic because the other thread is talking about the upgrade process anthere is a danger that people might miss this news!Whilst 2.80 doesn't claim to bring anything new, I have found something which has FINALLY been fixed and I am really pleased. If you are an owner of Guitar Hero, Rockband, Buzz or anything which uses the USB ports, you will know that the Wireless controllers do not start up as Controller 1. This means that to play the majority of games (and things like Home, VidZone)! To play them, you either have to remove your USB accessories, or change the controller config each and every time you play so that the controller is number ONE!I for one play COD almost every day (and generally play for a bit, then watch TV and repeat) and get really p**sed off having to change to controller 1 each and every time I start up.. Well, today, all thats changed.I just switched on my PS3 and my controller is 1, even though I have my Guitar Hero dongles connected. I would consistantly be Controller 4,

Nice ,I couldnt see what the update was for. I also had this problem with the controller.

I love the PS3 more and more for each day

Intresting bit of info matey as since the update my Guitar on Guitar hero has failed to work. And that is with the PS3 Cam and headset in the ports. Im yet to try with them out so i will try that route

I've also noticed the character limit in text chat has been extended.  much better now you can write a bit more - still the stupid censor though :smileysad:

If stuff like this is in the update, why do they not tell us?

I think 2.80 was more for developers to begin implementing voice chat etc than it was for us. My prediction is voice chat with update 3.0.

Re: update 2.80 new feature possibly

spot on . i have two usb hubs that run from the front of the machine and one i keep round the back of the tv for my 1tb hardrive , my eye toy my guitar stuff and my infra red sensors .ideally i dont need to take the this stuff out so i keep the wires hidden. hopefully now i can keep them all plugged as having to change the controller over all the time was very annoying

Re: update 2.80 new feature possibly

Thats a really good feature, I used to hate having to change my controller settings, now i can just leave the guitar hero adapter in all the time..
