welcome back extension for europe?

so the deal is pulled without any "final day" notifications (obviously they expected people to pencil this into their calenders themselves). All people who were trying to sign up for psn+ on the last day have got the raw deal. (pays them right for trying to get the most out of the deal).

Clearly americans are better at complaining cause they get a "its now or never extension", but us europeans are just expected to deal with it.

What BS, what a great way to make people never sign up for psn+

Especially with eurogamer misreporting the news... gettin all me hopes up :smileysad:

Us Europeans have always got the raw deal when it comes to Sony offers, but if you didn't get any of the welcome back offers within the month allocated than its your own fault, providing their wasn't any mitigating circumstances.

gRe: welcome back extension for europe?

My GF has an Asian account and in her Welcome Back email it said the offer expired on 4th July. When I called SCEE about my UK account they told me it was indefinite but I insisted he checked with someone else only for him to come back and say I was right, the US also finishes on the 3rd July so chances are the UK would too.

Nice to see they have the guys in the know at the places they need to be.

I wonder how many people slipped up and got nothing because there were no alerts from PSN that they had to activate it by a certain date?

Bullcrap! For starters why is there a time limit to activate a compensation package??

How many people still haven't been able to log into their accounts yet because the website Sony is using to force reset your password with is still down and "under maintenance"? How many people (like myself) are away from their PS3 and have not been able to log in to activate any of the content yet? How many people didn't manage to figure out how to download the games from the Transcations/Services menu after the games disappeared from the PS Store? How many people (again like myself) are not with a Wifi connection so are unable to download any of the PSP content?

For Sony to expect everyone to conform to a 30 day time limit to get every sorted when their system for doing so is riddled with faults is unreasonable. It would have been more reasonable if SCEE had informed everyone that they need to accept before the 3rd July and offered some real support for anyone wanting to do so.

I managed to get all of my Welcome Back content but it was a major hassle for me. I'm sure others are quite ***** that they missed out through no fault of their own.

Re: welcome back extension for europe?

i got the free game. but my plan was to save the psn+ for the latest date to milk this offer for the longest time possible. instead i get no time.

They must have felt its strange to end a deal with notifying people first, just silently remove it. cause thats how deals normally work :smileytongue:

its especially harsh that they have already accepted this is stupid by extending it in us. how can they justify only extending it there but not here? are people there somehow more believable when they say they didn't know it was the last day??? or they expect people here to just put it with ***** more than over there?

Re: welcome back extension for europe?

I think its perfectly logical. Two free games that would hopefully take already a month to complete. Then a month of psn plus after (so you effectively get two months). You don't have to be a genius to see the increased value. The bigger point is sony us has already admitted it was foolish in its handling by extending this by a day and making sure people realise its the end (with sites like joystiq and eurogamer reporting it) But apparently this courtesy is apparently not granted to us for some so far undisclosed reason.

Re: welcome back extension for europe?

OK... so on 6th June I had ane-mail letting me know there were some free games I could download to welcome me back. I haven't been checking messages regularly as have been doing major renovations on the house. So I check my mail today and find an e-mail from the 1st July which in the small print says I have until July 3rd to download the games .... that was yesterday and I am now too late.

Some welcome back offer... thanks Sony!!!

Not only did you lose all our details and shut the network down for over a month but you offer something and then take it back without warning.

Well done!
