Deactivation on dead products?

[ Edited ]

Good morning all,

I have a problem and It's one i would like to sort out now than later. The problem is, I've used all 5 activations on my PSN account. That's 2 PSP's and 2 PS3's, however, one of both consoles are dead. The PSP physically destroyed beyond repair and the PS3 suffered the YLOD and thus after being fixed 3 times has been left in the box. Now as you imagine, I can't just power these paperweights on and deactivate them, nor can I do it via the SEN device management page. And so that leaves me with this dilema. How shall I go about this? What can I do, I'm reluctant to phone Sony if I can find their number that is.

Edit: Okay I've deactivated the PS3 for game content, but I still need to deactivate them for Movie content.

Hi Razgriz375,

You can delete all activated consoles through SEN for Games, but for Video content you cannot. If the console in questionis faulty and you cannot do it from the console, you need to call support to do it.

Re: Deactivation on dead products?

Thank you Rabid, I contacted Sony and everything has been sorted out. They were very helpful and I now have both dead consoles deactivated for ALL content.

Thank you.
