How do I create and activate a PS Sub Account via the Sony Entertainment Network Website?

There are 2 slightly different ways to start the Sub Account registration process on the Sony Entertainment Network Website 

Select Create a New Account from the bottom of the login screen. 

You will then be prompted to register your sign in ID password and date of birth.  If the date of birth you enter is under 18 then you will be prompted to sign in to your Master Account to complete the registration with the following screen.

 The other way to begin a Sub Account creation is to log in to your Master Account directly and select the Account tab on the top and then Sub Accounts on the Left.

Which ever method you use you will come to the Sub Account registration screen shown below. 

Once you have added the Sign in ID (e-mail address) date of birth and password for the Sub Account you will be prompted to sign in with the Sub Account to register your devices (consoles)

When you have signed in select Devices then PlayStation Systems

Over the next few screens you will have to register the rest of the Sub Account details including the Name and Address of the Sub Account holder and chose the online ID.  Please remember that your online ID will be how you appear to others online and cannot be changed once selected

When you have added the required details you will be presented with the following screen advising your Sub Account is ready to access the PlayStation Network!

 Now all you have to do is create a new User on your PlayStation 3, select Sign Up for PlayStation Network > Use Existing Account.

Your Sub Account is now active and signed in the PSN!
