[ Edited ]

I have just replaced my PlayStation 3 and need to access my PSN account and Store content.

How do I do this?

Whether its due to a hardware failure or you've decided to upgrade to a newer model, from time to time it may be necessary to replace your PlayStation 3 console.

Once you have got the console out the box and powered up the first thing you want to do is link your existing PSN account to your replacement console

You will need to create a new user, this option will be the only one available once you started up the system and have entered the date and time.  You can also rename the User now or come back at a later date.

Then scroll to the left of the XMB menu to the PlayStation Network column and select Sign Up for PlayStation Network.

From here there are two options, Create a New Account and Use an Existing Account.  Select Use an Existing Account and enter your PSN Sign in ID and Password. (don't worry if you have forgotten your Password there is an option to reset it from this screen)

Now you need to re-download any content that you have previously downloaded from the PS Store

There are two ways you can do this:

Directly from the store - Simply load the PS Store, select the View Downloads option from the top right of the screen.  This will take you to your Download List where all of your previous downloads will be listed.

All you have to do is select the content you wish to redownload.

Using the Account Management option - Select Account Management from the XMB menu then select Transaction Management, finally go to Download List.  As before all your previous downloads will be available to redownload.

If you have any queries about the above process or any issues redownloading your content then please give me or another member of the Community Team a shout.
