Hi,

I was wondering, how much internet usage does the ps3 use per month for you? and how many GB do I need to be safe?

I have 30GB atm, but i dont want to go over and avoid unnecessary bills.

Online gaming uses about 20-25mb/hr so thats alot of hours. The game demos are the big users, usually well over 1GB

Ohok, cool, so I would easily have enough GB to play online and surf the web if its only 20-25Mb/H.

With 30GB you'll get about 1200hrs of online gaming per month, or 40hrs a day...........oh wait, there's only 24hrs in a day 

So yeah, more than enough

We only got 5GB and easily manage....sometimes a game has lots of updates and can chew it up fast though.

My router statistics show that the stats for the following:

Online gaming

Warhawk: 7.18Kb/s (26MB/hr)

Battlefield 2: 11.67Kb/s (42MB/hr)

Online radio

 256-512Kb: 33.13Kb/s (120Mb/hr)

Online Video

Theres no real statistic here as speeds vary from 50-600Kb/sec

but for a flash video it generally works out at 100MB per 20 mins video

So if you watch a program at 40mins length you can expect 200MB

Anything else (Downloads)

You can see the exact Mb before you download it.

Hope that can help you manage your limit.. 30GB is pretty hard to do unless you leave radio online all the time or download a lot.

EDIT: You could assume for 1GB left you could get around 14hours of hardcore MAG(20k/s) gaming, anything less intensive would obviously use less limit. If yuo were playing Battlefield 2 you could get 24 hours.
