Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

im having trouble with this as i recently upgraded to cable internet and am using a netgear CG3100 once i got to the router part on the computer the only area i can find to put a DMZ is "DMZ Host" and when i do i still can't log onto the internet on the ps3 any idea what im doing wrong? i see that under DMZ Host it has Respond to Ping on WAN Port with a box next to it. and under LAN IP it says it has the DMZ address but says static.

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

Can anyone help?

Or am I just impatient?

Tried to put my Second Ps3 into DMZ and have the first 1 going thru port forwarding virtual server.

Found that my first ps3 went to open NAT but my second one stayed at moderate on Black ops

just realised I never reset the system after doing all the settings like static IPs and pitting into dmz etc.

Do I need to reset the PS3 after applying setting in the router or is it just the fact I live in a country that filters too much.

I live in the UAE and have just started with a ridiculously bad connection.

My previous ISP was good in comparison to this one (etisalat) not naming any names but I need help

I have tried all kinds of set ups but don't seem to be able to over come the super slow connection.

When I am paying 100 Quid for a 30Mb fiber optic Internet service I would expect to be able to shoot someone online and kill them only to realise the image I shot at wasn't there and was behind me when he stabbed me.

Very frustrating as I am not a bad player but ATM I look CRAP:Confused:HELP PLEASE!!!!:Stupid:its driving me mad

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

Okay - I just tried it. Everything is working. I never actually had trouble with game disconnects too often, I just had trouble connecting to certain friends of different games.
My question is, well,
Ubisoft released what the ports were for Ghost Recon Future Soldier, now that I am DMZ, I wont actually need to enter those ports?

Also, after I put the PS3 in DMZ, I was hidden from my DHCP client list on my router homepage, is this normal/expected?

Thanks alot!

You won't need to open any ports for GR the DMZ should allow all port access. As for the DHCP issue i wouldn't worry about it if everything's working. If you still have problems inviting some friends it could be their connection at fault. I have a friend in australia i had problems with invites till he set-up a DMZ.

You may have gone a little wrong with the PS3 manual settings only the IP address needs changing. Everything else should be the same from what an automatic set-up gives you.

There's a good guide here. http://portforward.com/networking/staticip-ps3-playstation-3.htm

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

It did not work. I tried using the guide you provided but when I test internet connection I get "Failed". Obtaining the IP address is succeeding but I don't know why I am getting no internet. I have a ubee lightning modem which has a router inside of it so its like a 2 in 1. That may be the problem but I don't know. Can anyone help? Please.
