Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

MINE STILL DOESN'T WORK

I have NAT-type 2 and static IP and all, DMZ set up, but mw2 still lets my ps3 reboot after about 4-5 seconds after booting mw2....

Though, it does work when I sign out of PSN....

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Please use plain text.

A couple of things to check is your router firmware/software up-to-date to the latest version.

Quite a few are reporting that switching off Utorrent on PC/laptops also resolves COD problems.

Last thing a simple router reboot after making any changes often helps just switch it off for a few minutes.

Poor wireless strength/quality and high ping usually cause lag.

Setting up a DMZ should not mess up your internet if you do it correctly.

Yo, I followed the steps but my NAT Type is still 3.  What did I miss?

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

Nice one, quick and easy. Followed the steps and BOOM after a few minutes and a couple of laughs later done and seems to have solved my problem.

Thanks!

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

Seriously what routers are you using, there is no reason you should need to put your router into the DMZ. My ISP is with BT and their routers are notorious for problems, and yet I have a NAT2 connection, I can play COD multiplayer even with my daughter using xbox live and my wife watching youtube all day.

i've tried this, and it all was going well untill i had to put in my username and password to the router.. i dont know the username and password i have to use, its for a router that as far as i know, matches this one (sagemcom 2504n).. does anyone know the default username and password? i feel like ive tried the obvious things (ADMIN, SKY) (SKY,ADMIN), etc.. i honestly know nothing about the subject

The default username is :- admin         (lowercase)

The default password is  :- sky               (lowercase)

The only way it won't work is if you have changed it.

If your talking about changing your router and don't know where to find your username and password to use in it let me know.

A NAT 2 connection to PSN doesn't necessarily mean an open NAT to all games. It all depends on how well the routers UPnP function is working whether it dropping network access ports.

Some have problems joining invited games and some have issues with EA games.

Placing a PS3 in a DMZ saves the hassle of manually opening ports that UPnP can fail at doing.

Especially opening EA and PSN server ports all at once sometimes several or more different ports require being open at a given moment.
