Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

well just guessing here... if you have given your PS3 an IP address of 192.168.2.100 for example than that is what you put in the Static IP box (after you have clicked the little button next to it)...

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

[ Edited ]

page 124-126 (pg 134 of the pdf) of the Edimax 3G-6210n manual (found at link below) refers to the DMZ

http://www.edimax.co.uk/en/produce_detail.php?pd_id=313&pl1_id=1&pl2_id=77#03

presume you have to click the checkbox to enable the DMZ... then enter the settings in the other boxes and then select apply...

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

Thanks so much OP, I spent hours and hours online trying to figure it out.  Your guide was very easy to follow.  Unfortunately I am still NAT3 :-(

Probably because I'm in China...

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

Pin

just to double check... (apols if you have done this already!)

On the screen you put up, you should have:

Public IP - leave this on the Dynamic setting
Client IP - this should be the static IP you assigned to the PS3
Computer Name - select the PS3 from the drop down list

Enable DMZ should obviously be ticked LOL

Click 'Add'

this should drop all the details into the second box, which should then look like :
No. - Probably '1'
Computer Name - your PS3
Public IP - whatever your public IP is (something such as 82.191.67.102 not those exact numbers, but something similar-ish. NB DO NOT post yours up! :smileyhappy:)
Client PC IP - the internal static IP you assigned to the PS3 earlier - 192.168.2.100 or whatever you chose.

Then - CRITICALLY - you need to hit the 'Apply' button :smileyhappy:
This should first of all tell you that it has saved, and then reboot the router to make the changes actually happen :smileyhappy:

Apols again if there was any 'how to suck eggs' type stuff in there :smileyhappy:

And we weren't even testing for that..

Re: How to put your PS3 into a DMZ

TallPaul - check your twitter :smileywink:

Or...
try using google's DNS servers on the PS3 :smileyhappy:
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
via XMB network setup, choose manual, skip through pages until you get to the DNS one :smileyhappy:
