I have tried all the suggestions, opening ports, trying direct wired connection, router restarts, etc... I'm wasting hours of time trying to get my new PS3 to work. If there is not some announcement to put me at ease that this is going to work I'll be forced to return the console that I bought this past weekend. Spent way too much money on this to have no support and responses telling me that it is my problem not a problem with PSN.

We tried almost Everything and still get the same thing, Sony, can you PLEASE do us all a huge favour and fix this issue and release an update patch that fixes this glitch? I'm asking you nicely.

There is this potential solution, but I've tried it, at least I think I did it right... really can't believe the average PS3 owner is expected to go into router configs and open ports, and manually setup this stuff. If the box connects to the internet fine, I'd think it should log into the PSN fine as well. If anyone who's having this problem gets on I hope they come back and post what they did to make it work. I've also heard canceling the sign in request with o button and trying the login again and again may work too... Will try these when I get home tonight.

That seemed to be the solution for me. Still dont know why it worked, but I logged in succesfully for the first time... Turned off my PS3 twice and tried again. Still logged in nicely both times (turned the auto log in on and it worked too). If I experience any problems, I'll let you know.

Wow... this worked for me.  After trying every other solution to no avail.  I suggest trying this.  It worked first try.

I searched for 80710092 and looked at the realtime results... certainly we are not alone...

This is 3 trendlines; "Playstation", "PSN Login", and "80710092"

Bizarrely that does actually work! Signing in to PSN has been flakey since Friday for me. Every time has required more than one attempt. Since the MSA patch I think. Coincidence probly that is though. Been trying to sign in for 45 minutes tonight though getting the 80710092 error & then tried that suggestion mentioned above:

"Try to sign in, make sure the PSN is still broken and wait for the 80710092 error. Now try again and press circle to cancel immediately (2-3 seconds), do that until a different error pops up (forgot the number but it has a 'B' in it).

Now login again and it should work on that very last try."

It did actually work! But there be gremlins in the PSN!

Wow didnt think this was a common problem since about a week ago im getting this error code all the time, its frikin annoying, could some one please sort it out. Socom is out soon and if i cant play that online ill be upset, that upset ill write a letter to someone telling them  how upset i am.

Hi Woodman,

I have also been having an issue signing in yesterday and I went through this process. It did actually work and allowed me to sign in, although from time to time I would be disconnected and have to do it again.

Although it is worth trying this out to get on, its obviously not the ideal scenario so I will continue to keep the thread updated as I receive any more information.
