I too have had exactly the same problem, except i cant play call of duty black ops, ever since it did an update for that game my ps3 has been knackerd, not very happy with sony about this, think i will be avoiding all sony products in future

i am getting this error code but only when i try to play cod black ops disc is clean with no scratches
my ps3 plays all other games bar this one i have only had my ps4 back for about 2 months after it needing a new optimal pick up replacing tottaly not impressed as my ps3 is only 18 months old

You are getting what error code?
We can't look up an error code for you if you don't tell us what it is.
So everything is working apart from Black Ops but it's the PS3 at fault, not Black ops?

Hi there,
Error code: 80710104
Network server timeout.
Possible causes:
Incorrect information used when setting up your local network connection (custom details or WiFi credentials)
Weak wireless signal.
Congestion of Internet service (shaped due to exceeding monthly quota)
If using WiFi, test using Ethernet.
Check that your WiFi signal strength is consistent, and at least 75% (the higher the better)
Check that your ISP is not having congestion issues, and that your Internet service has been shaped / slowed down due to exceeding any monthly data quota.
You could also try using the Restore Default Settings option.
Found at Settings -> System Settings -> Restore Default Settings.
This will clear any audio / video / Internet settings from your PS3, prompting reentry. (Note: This will also remove your sign in ID / password from being stored on the console)
