PS3 Error "800295642" with a BRAND NEW CONSOLE

I was having problems installing most things on my slim 120 gb ps3 with that error coming up at about 12 % so I thought Id buy a new one.

But no I've just gone to install the Battlefield 3 new maps and the same error has occured. What a joke. So it can't be a hardrive issue which is whay I originally thought.

What is the problem. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to help but that is not a valid error code: Error codes have only 8 digits.

What is the real error code?

Re: PS3 Error "800295642" with a BRAND NEW CONSOLE

Hi there,

I'd say the error code would be: 80029564 - based on the error code provided and the description.

If the install is failing at around 12%/14% - this would indicate corrupt data.

How is your PlayStation connected to the Internet?

ie. WiFi / Ethernet and Cable/ADSL/3G/4G?

Hey Mclankyman,

There is a few things that might help you here.

1) Goto the Game > Game Data Utility and delete any Corrupt data that appears in here.

2) Goto the Settings > System Settings > Restore Default Settings and restart the PlayStation. Also when you do this it removes the email and password on your PSN account. You just need to type it back in when you reset.

3) Turn off and unplug your modem from the wall the Modem for 30 seconds.

4) On the PlayStation3 goto Settings > Network Settings and disable Media Server and also after this goto Internet connection Settings and do an easy setup.

5) Resign in to the PSN and try to download the BF3 Maps again.

If you do have any further issues after this I would advise contacting your local Support team
