Re: [PSN ACCOUNT] How to change the country in address details?

Is this something Sony plan to change? Why would we be able to specify whatever region we want in a new profile but are unable to alter the region in our existing profile? The fact that the region you specify in your PSN account determins what servers you're matched up with in games makes this problem evermore pressing. I see this thread was created in 2008...

Re: [PSN ACCOUNT] How to change the country in address details?

If Valve's Steam and XBLA are able to get over this obstacle and allow their customers to change their

country, I don't see why Sony should think they get exempt. I hope they allow this soon, that and they should

those with multiple accounts to merge them into a single 'Master' account.

Use PSN cards from the same exact location as the faked addressed, You will have to buy via the web. DLC most also match the Games BD region location.

Also be aware IP address filtered content won't work at all. Like Qriocity and PSN movie store, IPTV.. so on and so on.

Games should work fine.

BD and DVD films can be region locked OUT unless you match the region code.

PSN is a piece of *****....anyway, what can you expect from people who still censor porn movies and pictures?

By the other hand, seems two nukes where not enough to teach'em not to try to rule the world... because that is exactly what they are doing, forcing you to do things on their own way, and not yours.... of course is their own *****ing network so they can do all ***** they want, if we dont like, just go away, like I did....

Spend my money with other companies, let the *****ing PSN alone, you see..they cannot even manage a simple gaming network...think about more complicated things like banking...***** >YOU SONY

Re: [PSN ACCOUNT] How to change the country in address details?

You can add me to the list of people who would like to see this fixed.

Here's a possible solution:

1) You say you want to change your country

2) PSN checks to see if the content you own is permitted in that country

3) Where there is a conflict, it tells you about this and asks if you want to proceed, telling you that you will lose access to that content

4) If you proceed you must agree to your new region's terms & conditions

5) If that agreement is taken then the user can change their country.

It's not ideal, due to the need for possibly locking out some content, but I do understand that different countries have different licensing regulations and there is no way that Sony can be seen to be knowingly breaking these. I think this solution could work.

As it is, I'm locked out of the TV streaming software for my new country and the IP conflict blocks me from accessing parts of the shop. I'm trying to spend money with Sony but they're blocking me from doing it. I hope they address this eventually.

I haven't really used either of these services, but XBox Live users are (or were) complaining about the exact same issue.   Pretty much saying exactly the same things - how pants it is that global companies are seemingly unable to accept the fact that their customers are also global these days.
