PSN Country trouble

[ Edited ]

Hello everyone,

First I appologize if the issue was discussed before but when I searched on the forum the most recent discussion took place in 2011.

Here is my problem, I am French and I created my PSN account in France while I was still living with my parents and everything was well. Nom I am a grown up and I am living in Canada Nova Scotia. I recently bought a Ps Vita and eagerly registered it with my PSN account.
When I could not find the Netflix applications I learned that your account is Region/Continent based and I cannot access foreign stuff.
So I decided to create a new account for the stuff in Canada but since I registered my Vita with my french account I can't log in with another account.

So who should I contact to change my french account to a Canadian one ?
Or is there a manipulation that I missed ?

Thank you for reading

Re: PSN Country trouble

Unfortunately it is not possible to transfer any account details such as Regions or the content from the account.

Legally speaking, you should stop using the french account and make a canadian one now, being mindful to deactivate your consoles. However in reality you can either choose to keep the french one baring in mind that card details etc won't work anymore, or start from scratch.

If you have a PS3, I'd have both accounts on that so you don't lose content you already have, however for the Vita you'll likely need to start anew.

 Sorry :smileysad:

Re: PSN Country trouble

Oh ... Ok, thanks for the info.
I was kind of hoping that there would be a migration service.

I will try to do what you suggested.

I do not care that much for trophies and stuff but I bought a few games with my french account (not a week ago Final Fantasy IV the complete collection) and I would be disapointed if I were to not use them anymore.

Anyway thanks for the information, I just hope that I can switch my console from one account to another and keeping my stuff bought so far.

You might find the content manager and backup utility useful if you need to do a lot of swapping to save you needing to redownload everything.
