Permanently Banned: No Reason Given

[ Edited ]

A few days ago my other account Brundo493 got banned permanently. I received an email from the grief reporting system saying it was for severe breach of the TOS. I emailed PSN Support asking for the reason for the permanent ban and got told to call them. I'm not away to get ripped off through phone calls to Sony. I did not receive any warnings or temporary bans before this, and as far as I am aware it has come out of the blue as recently I've been doing 24 hours of Le Mans on GT5, and haven't been playing online (but I've been logged on to PSN). I've PMd MusterBuster to see if he can help me, however does anyone else have any ideas on how I can get my account back?

Kind Regards,

Chris

Edit: Was reading around and noticed a reply saying that the emails are sent the instant you are banned. I wasn't on my ps3 when I got the email as it was 11:30 am

Hi cbrand493,

The reason you were prompted to call in the email, was due to account security. They won't give information regarding account details/status without first verifying you are the account holder.

Some bans are temporary so they may be lifted after a certain period of time. Either way calling is the best bet to at least find out how long the duration of the ban will last (calls are charged at 4p a minute I believe).

Re: Permanently Banned: No Reason Given

Thanks for the response.

Is there a reason why the security questions cannot be asked through email etc?

Thanks

Re: Permanently Banned: No Reason Given

E-mail is not considered a secure method of communication for personal account details.  As far as I'm aware PlayStation Support will only confirm account information over the phone.
