why cant i get to log in my online i.d to play online?? but i can use it to sign in here???? i keep getting session time out . what could be the cause of this

Are you receiving any error codes whn trying to sign in at all on your PlayStation 3?

it just keep saying "connection to playstationnetwork has timed out" thats all

Have you jsut started having this? It you are on the wireless I would suggest turning your router and modem off for a couple of minutes. Once this is done turn them back on and re-establish the wireless connection with the PS3.

This tends to rectify issues where this occurs, if the issue remains or you have any queries let me know.

i called my service provider and they said it had a firewall up, so they fixed it. i can sign in to playstation network BUT i cannot play online nor enter any lobbies. dont know what more to do.

I have same problem, according to my playstation I have connvetion yet every time I sign in it repeats "playstation connection timed out" which is really frustrating. I would like to know what you meant, firewall up and what can I do to start making It work. Please notify me as soon as possible.

You could try placing the PS3 in a DMZ using your routers settings. You'd have to search around for a guide though as it varies per model.

I don't know if this is the proper place to ask this, but given that I can't log to GT5 in on a particular PS3 account, I wouldn't want open a new topic.

The issue is that we share a single PS3 with different users. My friend's user can log in to GT5 online  but I can't with my user. I have no problem with other games and is the same PS3 unit, there's no issues with the connection or the device itself.
