bought and tried to download ratchet and clank 2 and at 95% after 2 hours it stops and says error 800233EF and before this it was coming up with error 80710723 and it's really getting on my nerves, anyone got a clue why this is happening and how to stop it?

EXACTLY the same here ... I bought Resident Evil Chronicles and after couple of tries that ended with 80710723 I had a good run and it stopped at 89% with error 800233EF. And yes I forward all those TCP and UDP ports to my PS3. thx.

I have the same problem with fifa 13 about 20% 1200mb total 6300mb psn closed my profile i dont understand, please somebody have the solution from this. I will download for another ps3 and i will coment

And me, paid £50 for AC3 tried 4 times to download and the same error code, Sony you are quick to take my money now be quick and sort this out. It's a shame that the PS3 help is now on my fave list because I have to access it CEO many times!!!

I've just paid 12 quid for Dead Space Extraction and can't download it. Each time I try to download it starts with 250-300 minutes to download. This will drop to 206 minutes rapidly then then slow to about 1mb/sec download speed, (my internet isn't great but not that bad).
All day I've tried to download this damned game. I've had error code 800233EF, code 80029701, and code 80710092. each time the download gets between 30% and 50% I get an error code. I've plugged the ps3 straight into the router, exactly the same.
The only thing that made the download quicker was to click download in background, (in the hope it was a server time out issue). Somehow it was downloading at twice the speed, but screwed up at 19% rather than the 30%-50%.

@lingsguest. I'm screwing over £11.99 you must be pulling out your hair?

Lets hope this issue is sorted soon before the thread gets too much longer.

Normally you can find the error codes online, giving you an idea of their cause, and how to deal with it. The 800233EF code wasn't anywhere but EDWARD-STONE's post when I originaly searched 6 hours ago. This seems to be a new error code, lets hope its's connected to the recent store update, and can be fixed easily.

The US knolwledge base is the best place to search for PS error codes:

Mind you they didn't have 800233EF either but they did at least have a message about the PSN having performance issues, which is more than you can say for the EU website.

You can also just paste your error code into the search box at http://eu.playstation.com but it doesn't find nearly as many answers as the US site.

Usually, if this happens to me, I just wait a day or so then try again. If it still doesn't work, I wait a day or so then try again. If it still doesn't work after 2 days, I wait another day or so and try again. I'm a very paitient person.
