Join PlayStation Plus: Put this at the top of your bucket list

[ Edited ]

Hey guys,

I just signed up for PlayStation Plus last Sunday and it is simply amazing.

With all the freebees that i have already downloaded, i can safely say that it is a must have. Infamous 2 and saints row 2 would have cost me at least 4 times the amount i actually spent just to sign-up for the 90 days. I have already encouraged 2 of my friends to sign-up and they are loving it.

Free themes, free game trials, some awesome games and muchmore- heavenly status achieved.

No regrets guaranteed!

Yeah I also I have PlayStation Plus on both my personal and work accounts.

I like the fact that each month 4 full games come out for free and you can get 12 free 1 hour trials to decide if you want the game or not and I also use the Online Storage so if anything happens to my PS3 I do not lose all my saves.

Also - If you sign up for 12 months it is cheaper then signing up for 3 months with auto renewal on.

Re: Join PlayStation Plus: Put this at the top of your bucket list

You gonna have to give me more than what I get for free as a Playstation Plus member, cos to me thats not really free,
thats me paying to have these 4 random games given to me on a monthly basis.

What else is there that is worth the money?

And what happens if I join and my console dies or something?
Do I get to keep the games? Or is it one off downloads ?
This force inside me is not so easily beaten, This force inside me tastes like fire. Man? God? Pity. I was hoping for something with a little more .... Thunder....

Well personally, I play a lot of RPG games right, specifically Batman: Arkham City & Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 …. Now I don’t always have access to my file (which is the best outta my friends I have to add)

So I love the fact I can save it from my home console on to “The Cloud” (which is this Online Storage space only PS+ members have the option for) and then go over to my mates place, log into my user and account on her console and download that file. Play my save file, grab a few more trophies , resave to the cloud and continue playing from home …

Oooooh annnnnd you know how if don’t update after a while your console starts screaming at you …. Well, PS+ has this nifty little option that allows the PS3 to automatically update from the internet whenever a new update comes about – no more ugly reminders when you’re about to beat down Bane (batman reference there folks)

And while it’s not something I readily use, it something I regularly check – Beta Testing – oh yes, if you are really into having everything before everyone else, PS+ gives you the chance to Beta Test or Download a free trial of yet to be release games. Nothing but bragging rights there :smileyhappy:

If the console dies once you join, firstly, get up run in circles scream and shout, then call Sony talk to them about what’s the best option. ANNNND you can keep piece of mind that everything you have save on the cloud is safe.

The subscription is glued to your account better than the craft glue for Sackboy and his LBP misadventures. Once you get the new console, log in, and BAM! You’re back to where you were before that unfathomable incident.

As for keeping the games, well, that is a small bugger, some of the games you get, they are yours to play as much as you desire while you’re a subscriber – but when you give up the PS+ account (heaven forbid) you do loose the access

Once the time is ended.

Re: Join PlayStation Plus: Put this at the top of your bucket list

I've been a member of PlayStation Plus since it started and have never felt like i've wasted any money. Despite being very wary of it before it was launched.

The value alone from each update is awesome not to mention the Cloud saves (although mine is now full) and the fact I can update my games and system while sleeping. Saves me heaps of time as my actual gaming time is limited nowadays, don't have to wait for the games to updates before I can play anymore, I just dive straight in!

PS+ is pretty much responsible for me having to upgrade my HDD, my 250GB was adequate, but now it's full, wasn't even enough room to download Dead Space 2! So now i'm in the process of upgrading to 500GB, which according to my PS3 is taking 6 hours and 39 minutes (while i'm at work) to backup. So one word of advice to anyone considering PS+ with a smaller drive, upgrade first, it'll save you time and you'll need the space for all the awesome stuff you'll be getting!

Hi Guys and Girls, I fully agree with shakboy132, no regrets after signing up for PS Plus we've downloaded many many games due to freebies etc. Its worth its price!, The family has almost filled up a 500GB HDD with many of the freebies + other videos etc. Well done Sony, You've bounced back from the dark days of the PSN attack and bought us many goodies ! + you've kept the PSN free.
