Hi guys,

Just to report that there will be emergency PSN maintenance this afternoon

Start time - 17:00 (BST)
End time - 21:00 (BST)

For the first 45 minutes of this maintenance (17:00 - 17:45), you'll be unable to access the PS Store, Account Management or Registration pages. If you attempt to access these pages you'll receive a maintenance notification. You may, however, be able to sign-in to PSN (assuming you have done so previously on the PS3/PSP you're using) and play online titles.

Can't really say to be honest. mainly because I don't know myself what's going on with it. I guess it's only emergency because it's short notice.

Nuts, I was running an Uncharted 2 tourney tonight. Looks like I'll have to postpone it now...

Can you ask around and try discover if you stay signed in from before 5PM, you'll stay online the entire time? (As it was with the maintenance few weeks-months back)

During this downtime, all staff do a massive search and find 100,000 UK users with a US account all living in the same hotel, lol.

Of course, you know I'm only joking!

Anychance of telling us what it was after the problem has been fixed.. I often wonder what goes on with these maintenance updates that tend to appear a few hours before you guys get on with it. Makes me think are my Debit Card Details, Email and Password safe.. you never know.

if it's anything like our 'emergency' installs, it just means "d'oh! I forgot to raise the correct bit of paper, but we need to get this live before the next scheduled maintenance"
