How else is sony going 2 pay their share holders their dividens every year just like any other foriegn company trading in aus gougeing the crap out of us. They see us a soft targets and gouge us as 

from every cent we have. There is no one out there with enough authority to put a stop to it unfortunately. Just dont buy any software products from the psn store and if you than don't  complain about it. Don't forget we do have a choice in what happens  with our money.....I personaly dont waste my time with aussie retailers when it comes to games and accessory's i purchase everything from england  and it gets delivered to my door for half the price than what you pay at the retailers.....I no what i am doing it's not good for aussie jobs but hey if i can get it cheaper o/s well why the hell not do it.......... Sooner or later company's will get the message wether they like it or not...

Yeh it has been said a few times renze but it never changes the fact that its wrong what they do for us down under. I say let the people complain, let them have their protest, even if nothing is done it still raises awareness. Its freaking highway robbery and im all for peoples shout outs.
Mods i know you guys work for Sony AU, but im sure you could understand the reasons behind the users claims. While its nice to explain it to them it never explains at why the non americans get ripped off regardless of whether we are part of europe or not. In regards to standards of living, im pretty sure Australia is one of the hardest countries to live in, even though the comment about a higher award wage is present here, we have higher insurance rates, CTP green slips, a higher cost of living, but all those figures never get included in the figures. Now don't get me wrong its quite apparent we are paying the higher price but I don't appreciate the support Sony gets for the price discrepancies.
So people complain all you want you all have the right kudos for it too.

go visit the US, talk to the people, you'll soon find out they have it pretty tough there, we have it easy, their economy is a mess, and unless your rich, your doing it tough

i dare to disagree, We have it just as tough if not more-so, the carbon tax is already imposing further charges on our electrical bill, as if it wasn't already high enough. NSW and i think QLD have a mandatory CTP greenslip which is extra from the other states, the price of fuel has skyrocketed.. freaking E10 is now 157c /L. The cost of living is becoming harder each day, honestly, a second job is looking might reasonable to make ends meet right now. and thats with two incomes in the household. Im not wealthy but I aint poor either, my annual income is ~72k P.A. and yet i still struggle some months... You are telling me that we don't suffer, we have to work our butts off for a little luxury these days.

I'm not saying we don't suffer, I'm saying we don't suffer as much, if you actually spend some real time in the US you'd see they are doing it real tough over there, and to make it worse their economy is deep in the $!773r

Valid arguements..

We do have lower unemployment rates, but  the fact remains we still need to work really hard to enjoy ourselves, i gather its the same for them too. Honestly i love Australia.. Hate our PM but love the country. To increase the price 100% though is a little ridiculous. I dont think Australia is that much better off that it warrants such an exploitably large increase in selling price.

I don't mean to be arrogant towards any nation, i have my respects to the americans too as my brother in law is from new york. But i stand by these peoples decision to protest the selling price of games in Australia.

I suppose im barking up the wrong tree. But we should not stop peoples protest, explain to them why but we shouldn't support Sony's tactics in explaining it.

no, but my main point is that prices are coming down slowly, and while we do have some right to complain when we have to pay double what other countries do, but that isn't the norm anymore, things are evening out
