Welcome to the PC Gaming Thread!

Now I know there is a PS3 discussion thread and an Xbox 360 discussion thread.

So thought it was about time us PC gamers had an area to talk about...

  • Upcoming Games
  • Latest Releases
  • Modding
  • Favourite Games
  • Gaming set up
  • How you feel as a PC gamer.

If you ever need advice on any of the above then this should be your first stop for all your PC gaming needs.

So go ahead and get chatting!

Red Alert 3 and Tiberium Wars are definitely worth the price they're asking. They've changed a bit from back in the day of 1/2/Tib Sun, but are pretty solid RTS.

They still have the really cheesy real life cutscenes too, so no worries there :p

I played (and still have somewhere) Tiberium Wars, just never picked up RA3... Bleurgh, it's only £3.74 I guess :) I should really finish the SC2 campaign first though.

I'm fed up of having to report mods for things like this, that's why the last two had to "leave".

The 24 pin cable on my new Power Supply is just an inch or so short :<

Are extension cables a good idea, or should I look into getting a new PSU as soon as possible?

Never used extension cables before.

And it's finally official after the leak: http://www.finalfantasyviipc.com/en

Unless it's a new port, which it may be due to the new features... I could not care less. The old port was terribad.

NZXT do good neat cable extensions.  http://www.scan.co.uk/products/nzxt-cb-24p-24pin-black-braid-sleeved-motherboard-power-extension-cab...

Completed Bastion recently, pretty good game.  Starting on Limbo next (inbetween DayZ sessions)

It's okay. Shame it's so gear-driven and the end-game is utterly terrible.

Hey guys, just got some questions regarding PC gaming.

Recently I've got really bored of console gaming and well I was thinking of building a gaming PC. Though never having done this before I do have some questions.

1. First, is it difficult to assemble a PC?

2. What are the best websites to buy the components from?

3. Is it wise to do this now with Windows 8 around the corner with Direct X 11.1 cards and such (sorry if I missed something obvious)?

4. I was actually looking to replace the PS3. Kinda gave up on console gaming at the moment and PC has some games I really love like Total War. So space is a major thing - going to and fro from Uni - so is there any way I could incorporate all this into a small chassis?

5. Any general tips and advice you would recommend to me?
